How do you make an avatar?
Where do you get an avatar?
I need to contemporize man!
I'm with you, and I'll even add another question: How do you VIEW avatars? It's weird, sometimes they show up in people's posts and sometimes they don't. I'm thinking it must be an anomaly related to my search engine.
Nope, I don't know how to do it either! But on the other hand I'm not sure I want to as it just increases the size of the posts and makes for more pages to scroll thru! I'm thinking I'm fine the way it is!!!
If anyone has an idea for a personalized one but, don't know how to make it PM me and I'll help you out. I've been a professional desktop publisher for 20 years so I know a thing or two about working with graphics.
How can you compress your pictures and the pixel size of your pictures?
There has to be a way...
There are many programs that can do that. I use Photoshop but, there are many less expensive programs. Even some free ones. If you have a Mac and use OS X then ImageWell is a great free program. I even know the guy who wrote this program. He lives up in NH. I don't use Windows so I don't know of any free programs for PCs but, a quick search at versiontracker.com turned up this and this.
Evidently they no longer allow us to upload animated gif files as avatars. Don't know why. This is the only forum I have ever heard of that doesn't allow animated avatars. People who don't like them can turn off the option to see them. This is a poor decision to not allow them anymore in my opinion.
Thanks for all of the info and tips about this subject.
This is strange...I just uploaded my new custom avatar, then it said that my picture upload failed.
I can see it, but can anyone else?
Blue thingy? Check.
Blue thingy...that is a good name.
I made it one day when I had nothing better to do. I like to dabble with my creative side sometimes.
I tried to learn the graphic stuff for while, to supplement my income. I even bought that Adobe Indesign (the current version about a year and a half ago.). I couldn't do that much because of all the confusing stuff on it.
I can layout my own sales copy...but, that's about it.
Maybe you could give me some tips on becoming a graphic designer if you get some free time.
I know the basics like: kerning, leading, spacing, white space, serif and san serif fonts...what colors your headlines/subheads should be to get the highest readibility, etc.
I'd like to pick your brain...
Separate names with a comma.
