Last week we did a poll askin how did you "feel" about last weeks game.

Let's change it up a little a find out who is confident of a win and who is not. Maybe that is better than asking if you "feel good" or not, but it amounts to the same thing.

I will put myself in the cautiously confident side, that we will win. I think that this team has the heart of a champion and will come up with a win.:rocker:

Yeah, I am. Last week I thought we had to out execute them to win. This week I think they need to out execute us. Now, at home, etc, they may very well do that. But I think we're bigger, stronger and tougher (mentally and physically) on both sides of the ball.

As opposed to last week this week I am very confident we will win. History is clearly on our side, but more importantly we've played much better heading down the stretch than the Colts have this season.

I'm hopeful, but I'm not sure what to feel about our chances. So I voted Hopeful but not Confident. Not saying that I think we'll lose, but I'm just nervous with no true feeling of how the game will go.

Last night I told my wife I thought the odds were about :

    20% chance we win easily.
50% chance we win a close one.
20% chance we lose a close won.
    10% chance we lose easily.

I see no reason to change that as of now.

I would put the odds more so like :

    10% chance we win easily.
35% chance we win a close one.
35% chance we lose a close one.
    20% chance we lose easily.

I feel the same way. I am VERY nervous about this game; I think it could easily go either way and will probably go down to the wire. I'd be feeling much better if our secondary had our two starting safeties.

    I would say...

    40% chance we win easily
    20% chances we win close
30% chance we lose close(edge goes to Adam if it's close)
    10% chance we lose easily

Cautiously confident. I think having Graham and Neal back will help in the running game and pass protection. I think the CBs will play more bump-and-run which worked so much better in the 2nd half in the November game. I think having faced the Colts' D with Sanders in November will help them prepare better a 2nd time around. I think the Pats benefit from playing on fake turf as much as the Colts do (as evidenced by Brady's 20something-1 record on the stuff).

What makes me cautious is that mistakes do happen and the November game was the epitome of that. Passes bouncing off of Pats into the arms of Cato June, some strange offensive playcalling and taking too long to make successful defensive adjustments. Who's to say things like that don't happen again? Who's to say Matt Light doesn't play more like he did against Jason Taylor @ Miami than he did vs. Shawne Merriman when matched up against Freeney?

I really think this is the Pats' game to lose, but this is an edition of the Colts that they definitely can lose to.

    Regards,
    Chris

    Feeling very confident this week.

Colts D played against 2 poor offenses who didn't adjust, that will not be the case this week.

    Brady plays well in domes.

Brady has never had 2 bad games in a row.

The Pats had the #2 scoring D in the league and did a good job against the league's #1 O last week.

The Pats are the best closers of this era.

I am more confident than I was going into the Chargers game. I am not buying that the Colts' defense did this 180 degree turnaround. I think poor coaching and execution of their opponents played into a large part of their offensive turnaround. In fact, the Colts pretty much dared the Chiefs to take the game from them until the fourth quarter, but the Chiefs couldn't shoot their own way out of a paper bag.

One of the least talked about stories in the NFL is Manning's poor play for stretches this season. People talk about how he turned over the ball the last two games as an aboration, but there was a four game stretch from the Dallas game to the Jags game where he had a total of 4 TDs and 6 INTs. Brady never had a stretch like that and people were constantly questioning if something was wrong about him.

I think the Pats are the better team. I still think the Colts' defense is still very flawed and their offense isn't nearly as dominant as it was in the past. Last week, I felt we faced the most complete team in the NFL and won eventhough they had some help by the Chargers.

I think we can win this game decisively. Being the AFC Championship and the two teams know each other well, I think it will more likely be a close game, but I would say I we have a 55-65% chance to win. I felt last week it could have gone either way.

rob0729 just saved me a bunch of typing. I am also more confident against the Colts than the Chargers.

We can beat the Colts on the field, but, even though it hasn't been the case so far in this year's playoffs, I am concerned about the officials.

I think the league wants the Colts in the SB, and Polian is already crying about the Pats' physical play.

The league didn't want a replay of last year's officiating fiasco, but maybe they can weather just one game with questionable refereeing, especially if it gets the team they want in the Superbowl.

I'm in the 65% sure category too... basically I saw the Chargers as the big bad monster we had to slap down this year. Of course, the Colts are now badder in retrospect, because they put the Ravens out (just as we're badder for beating the Chargers.) But I see this game as a tough "should win," as opposed to a "I dunno... everything tells me they should lose but I hope they win."

We'll be fine as long as we use the force.

I *knew* we would beat the Chargers. I think (but don't know) we will beat the Colts in Indy. We just haven't shown we can stop their passing game, and that has me a tad less confident than I was against SD.
