    ...in the US and UK.
But US kids are being doped-up more than three times the rate of UK kids now. Who's behind the drugging of our kids (mostly boys, BTW). The teachers and schools? The drug companies? The medical community? PARENTS? Why are boys seen to have ADHD and hyperactivity more than girls. Could it be that boys are supposed to be different than girls in that way NATURALLY? WTF are we doing here?

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/05/05/psychdrugs.children.ap/index.html

"In the U.K. study, anti-psychotics were prescribed for 595 children at a rate of less than four per 10,000 children in 1992. By 2005, 2,917 children were prescribed the drugs at a rate of seven per 10,000 -- a near-doubling....
...By contrast, an earlier U.S. study found that nearly 45 American children out of 10,000 used the drugs in 2001 versus more than 23 per 10,000 in 1996."

It's sad isn't it Wistah. I've been railing on this stuff for years now. We drug up kids without knowing what the long term repurcussions are. People see a kid running around, bothering them while they want to watch TV, as he's looking to play, and what do they do? Drug him. It's really, really sad.

A couple of years ago I read an article where this loon in charge of drugging kids did an interview. Basically she admitted that they don't really know wtf these drugs might do to the kids long term. No tag, no recess, no dodgeball, but lots, and lots of drugs. Go figure.

We drug our kids more than six times the rate that the Brits do.
CNN talking head Robin Meade (hottest chick in TV news IMO) actually said that doctors are unsure whether the US is over-medicating or if the UK is under-medicating! No friggin lie!

this is all about the lack of responsibility. this kid can't help himself so we need to give him something to calm him down. i will admit that some kids need to take these drugs, but the numbers are very few. i would've been ADHD, ADD and all the other bullsh!t but my parents believed in discipline. if i acted up in school i had to answer to my dad and usually meant i was getting spanked. needless to say, i didn't act up to many times. all boys are hyperactive. it's part of being a boy. when this batch of druggies start to get out of school and have to be responsible for themselves, our country will pay the price. imhop

All of society was more disciplined and our society believed very strongly in discipline at one time but the Far Left Wing Socialist Liberal has changed all that.

    Example Of Liberal Sh!t:
Boy steals apple from fruit stand

    Liberal Solution:
    Remove Fruit Stand

You think the drug companies and HMO's are controlled by the far left?

This isn't about left-right. I'll be willing to bet that just as many - if not more - so-called conservatives have their kids doped up than do so-called liberals. Follow the money. If you own stock in Pfizer or whoever's trafficking this sh!t, you can be considered partially responsible.

    A-bomb's right.
We will pay for this in a few years. Some of the most creative geniuses of our time were ADHD or ADD. We are losing a whole generation to this trend.

Sorry I wandered from the 'drug thing' when I saw the word "discipline" and got carried away, Liberals HATE Discipline and I couldn't resist remidning them of it.......

Your right, it's not a Lib/Con thing, it's a pill thing we always tried to avoid giving our kids any kind of medication unless it was absolutely necessasary, if they really started acting up thats where the word "Discipline" entered the picture, I could never use "Pills" on my kids, I'd rather tie them to a tree with a Dog Leash under a Bee Hive.

Look what pills did to Al Gore--------:singing:

Giving kids psychoactive drugs is almost criminal except for the most extreme circumstances. Schools are not currently equipped to deal with young males, so when they act like boys they drug the kids.
