Just a theory... Mangenius or Man-Gina? Our prodigal former coordinator has shown a Machiavellian streak. His pre-season contract feint stripped the Pats of Branch; I suspect he used inside knowledge to decipher Brady's signals (as BB taught him to do with Manning in the past) during the Jets' bye-week and used that to his advantage in the Pats 17-14 loss to the Jets. I also suspect Mangini, knowing he held the division tie-breaker, may have shared his information with Saban out of mutual advantage prior to Miami's 21-0 defeat of the Pats. The whole post-game "we bought the footage" mantra from Saban may have been a red-herring, like Mark McGwire putting Andro in his locker and pretending to be caught red-handed with his "supplement". I suspect the Miami players, after playing the Pats for the last time in the season, then let the cat out of the bag post-game out of respect for Brady and to spite the Jets once their "mutual interests" had ended.
I believe this back-stage struggle with the traitorous Man-Gina contributed to the joy and relief the Pats' coaching staff felt after the J-ville victory, and motivated Pete Mangurian to offer his post-game "Sorry, Mangini" comment.
I now suspect that this personal attack on Patriot Management with a NY twist in the PFT rumor mill from so-called "NFL sources" comes from the same culprits, the minions of Man-Gina. Man-Gina knows where to hit BB where it hurts just prior to the play-offs, how to distract him and the team, how to rain on the Patriot parade after a joyous win during the holidays.
It started as industrial espionage; it escalated to economic warfare; then to signals intelligence, now psy ops. It's war, and it aint pretty.
