He was unanimous MVP last year, who are these doubters?

Maybe Pro Football Focus should get a subscription to a daily newspaper with a sports section.

Legitimate sites liked Brady's performance, too.

They treat QBing like professional diving as opposed to football. In diving, you get "degree of difficulty" points for attempting a hard dive. In football, you want the easiest route to points.

That same guy would probably give Romo a perfect rating for that pick he threw to Revis.

I actually like most of PFF's stuff, but that particular QB rating methodology & resulting article was a F-ing joke. Set them back a bit in the court of public opinion too. In hindsight, I bet they wish they could take that one back more than a drunken 23yr old sales rep filmed pole dancing at her last office xmas party. :snob:

They are the most quoted NFL scouting and statistical source by both the national and local media by far, but they have certainly and permanently lost credibility with New England Patriots fans.

Their ranking of Tom Brady is illogical and indefensible, at a minimum.

Its not just NE. Reading the comments to their explanation, there appear to be many that are asking for them to change their QB rating system at the least since it isn't sensible. Critical self evaluation is important in any analysis. If they can't take a step back and see that there is an obvious flaw in their system then it really brings into question their integrity.

In case anyone is wondering, here is why PFF is no better than a stopped clock:

Someone asked this insightful question about rankings.

The response is basically "Yep."

If you ever hate yourself enough to read comments on PFT, you'll know that Brady would be nothing without Belichick. I guess at some point some of BB's brain tissue was implanted into Brady's shoulder, which accounts for the "probable" designation on the injury report year in and year out. :bricks:

PFF is not the "most quoted NFL Scouting and statistical source by both the national and local media". That would be Scouts, Inc and the NFL.

They both worked; one worked better. Chance doesn't exist: Rodgers completed a pass cleanly which got more yardage.

How can you fault them for grading it better? There should be no objectification in these analysis, which you are doing by calling Brady's pass to the open receiver for a shorter gain "smarter" than Rodgers' pass to a more heavily covered receiver down the field.
