There's some guards/tackles out there I thought'd be drafted...

Eric Young
Pedro Sosa
Adam Kraus

A TE I was interested in:
Adam Bishop

I also second the folks that posted Darrell Robertson and Jameel McClain.

SS Jamar Adams might be worth a look.

I was hoping Silva would find a home with a club somewhere for sentimental reasons. Best of luck to him.

This is a list of possible targets from Patriots.com. I was going to add link but I am not allowed yet.

Ali Highsmith: Not for the Patriots.
Erin Henderson: I was surprised to see him fall out of the draft. On my list, as well.
Curtis Gatewood: Can't believe I actually forgot about this guy. I watched him, and there was a thread or two on here in which we talked about him, but for some reason he slipped my mind when putting that list together. So yea, he's on my list...now:D
Jameel McCLain: On my list, and could be a good ILB prospect.
Ben Moffitt: Not for the Patriots.
Vince Hall: Not for the Patriots.
Drew Radovich: Not sure if this kid would be a great fit.
Jamie Silva: Bring him in.
Matthew Mulligan: Great blocker, who's on my list.
Maurice Murray: I'd rather see them bring in Callender

Besides Silva would like to see:
Brian Bonner SS TCU. Look this kid up. Also great PR
Tommy Blake DE TCU. One of the best players in the nation in 2006. Dominates when healthy. Had some anxiety medical issues but has been cleared. Would have been a top twenty pick.
Derek Lokey DL Texas -Energizer Bunny
Matt Sherry TE Vilinova. Didn't we check him out?
Darnell Terrell CB 6'2" but a little raw
Wesley Woodyard Listed as OLB. 6'1'' 217 lbs. The best tackler in the Senior Bowl. Was a SS. Speed!!! Can be put back. There is your large SS who can tackle with speed.
Yverson Bernard. RB OSU 5' 9' 209 lbs. Moves piles and has speed.
Jeremy Geathers DE Nevada. Pass rush specialist OLB?
Steve Allen. SW Oklahoma. Wild man MLB.
Chase Ortiz DE TCU productive in college. Had decent rush.
D.J,. Wolfe has been mentioned.
LB from Central Michigan Red something but I forget his name.
I see some I prefer than who we drafted but there has to be reasons.
Silva is a no-brainer. He starts over Sanders right now.

I'd be happy to see them give Moffitt, Leman, Callender, Silva, Zennon and Henderson all a shot.

Updating my list:
RB
Andre Callender: Would be a good third down back to groom behind Faulk.
Rafael Little: Had some injury problems, but he also has some talent, and can make plays in the receiving game.
Dantrell Savage

WR
Darius Reynaud: Now a Vikings
Dorien Bryant
Adarius Bowman: I liked what I witnessed on the field, but he's had some troubles off the field, which had a lot to do with his slide out of the draft. Bringing him in as a UDFA seems alright, and he could turn into a great receiver, or simply be a cut, which really wouldn't matter.

TE
Joe Jon Finley
Joey Haynos: Tallest TE in the draft, with some ability as a blocker.
Matthew Mulligan: Great blocker.

CB
Jonathan Zenon
Justin McKinney

Safety
Jamar Adams: Now a Seahawk
DJ Wolfe
Jamie Silva
Simeon Castille

ILB
Erin Henderson: Signed with the Vikings.

Jameel McClain:signed by the Ravens.

Jeremy Leman:signed with the Vikings.

OLB
Darrell Robertson
Curtis Gatewood
Ezra Butler: signed with the 49ers.

DL
Keilen Dykes (DE/DT): Now a Cardinals

P
Mike Dragosavich: The Patriots signed Drago!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to what's currently floating around on the net, the Patriots have signed:
Vince Redd OLB, Liberty (6'6" 263lbs)...interesting pickup, and I remember someone mentioning him on here previously.

Mike Dragosavich: Best punter available, and he's got a great name, too.

Chris Norwell - DE, Illinois (6'6" 305lbs)...another interesting signing.

NFL Draft Scout must be doing maintenance or they're getting too many hits from all the Chinese & Koreans who follow the NFL - anyway I started this working off their lists and they've gone down - this is as far as I got. P = Priority.

Linebacker - The biggest issue here seems to be speed, or lack thereof. Still, some of these kids can play and deserve a chance to knock one of the draftees off the roster.

P - Darrell Robertson DE 6-5, 265 Georgia Tech
P - J Leman LB 6-2, 245 Illinois
Gary Guyton LB 6-2, 245 Georgia Tech
Jameel McClain LB 6-1, 250 Syracuse
Curtis Johnson LB 6-3, 245 Clark Atlantic
Chase Ortiz DE 6-2, 250 TCU
Marc Magro LB 6-2, 240 West Virginia
Titus Brown DE 6-3, 250 Mississippi State
Eric Foster DT 6-1, 266 Rutgers

Safety - I frankly don't know Shane Simmons from Adam, but as long as one of our own goes to school with him I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Wesley Woodyard LB 6-0, 227 Kentucky
Jamie Silva DB 5-11, 205 Boston College
Shane Simmons LB 6-1, 225 Western Washington

O-Line - There is some talent left here.

P - Pedro Sosa OT 6-4, 300 Rutgers
P - Eric Young OG 6-4, 310 Tennessee (X)
P - Kerry Brown OG 6-5, 305 Appalachian State

Wide Receiver - A weak WR class, yet you can't help but think some of these kids have as much talent as some of their drafted brethren. Swan is the kind of kid I fall in love with each draft, and they wind up on the Bears Practice Squad. **sigh**

P - Darius Renaud WR 5-9, 202 West Virginia
P - Luke Swan WR 6-0 195 Wisconsin
Anthony Aldridge WR 5-9, 170 Houston
Todd Blythe WR 6-5 214 Iowa State
Danny Amendola WR 5-11 183 Texas Tech

D-Line - They will be hard pressed to make the Practice Squad, but the competition value is good.

P - Keilen Dykes DT 6-4, 295 West Virginia
P - Henry Smith DT 6-3, 310 Texas A&M

Running Back - Little engines that might.

Chad Simpson RB 5-9, 216 Morgan State
Calvin Dawson RB 5-9, 200 Louisiana-Monroe
Justin Beaver RB 5-8, 196 Wisconsin-Whitewater

Tight End - I'm shocked to see this draft class escape without a TE added.

P - Brad Listorti TE 6-3 251 Massachusetts
P - Mike Peterson TE/FB 6-2 247 Northwest Missouri State
Adam Bishop TE 6-5, 248 Nevada

Cornerback - Not so critical after the draft class.

Justin McKnney CB 5-9, 188 Kansas State

Some of this stuff is just so hard to figure out. My Binkie Wesley Woodyard, all he did was lead the SEC in tackles(Mayo was credited with a couple late so he came in 2 short playing 1 less game). He changed positions from a SS to a OLB and had over 100 tackles 3 straight years. Here is the first line of his bio:

If players were measured by their heart and desire instead of their body structure, Woodyard would be a giant among men. A fearless tackler with little regard for his own safety, he will probably switch to safety at the professional level. Even with the addition of 10 pounds of bulk after his final season, the Wildcat realizes his days as a linebacker might come to an end in 2008.
He had a 4.51 at the combine and had great workout noted by Faulk and alot of the talking heads. He had all the coaches falling all over him at the senior bowl including Singletary. He did everything right as a football player and yet he didnt get drafted.
Its not like he had an injury, a medical condition, or a drug problem. There is no lack of effort....I just feel so bad for the guy to try as hard as he did to make an impression to not get picked. To watch and wait all day....it has to SUCK. This is not RUDY or anything, he did it on the field. He had 20 tackles in a bowl game! You have guys like Ruud picked for his name, Slater picked for his name, Caleb picked so he wont have to go to Iraq and so many other one year wonders....its so sad.
BB is supposed to love overachievers. He takes on a guy like Crable who is an admitted multi year project. Rodney isnt getting any younger and this guy will make a team that he goes to. Come on BB, give the guy a call!

It would be nice to see the Patriots sign a couple of players from

these lists. Usually, I am disappointed at the quality of player that

they sign as UDFAs. The Colts are the masters at signing good undrafted

players.

Apparantly Jamie Silva has signed with the Colts.. even though I do not like the team, hope he does well.

I believe that Andre Callender signed with a CFL team not too long ago. I haven't double checked, but the source (atleagle blog) is usually spot on. It did sound odd to me that Callender would sign to the CFL before the NFL draft... guess he was told by those in the know that he had little chance of catching on and having a shot at making a roster.

I had Chad Simpson on another list, then removed him for reasons that might become obvious if you read through his scouting reports.

There's so many of these guys, that you can easily forget a few you might have otherwise listed. In this case, you brought up some players I should have put on the list:

Titus Brown: He was actually a player discussed a few times on this forum, and I had him as a late round OLB option for the Patriots. He looks somewhat like Colvin, too:D
Justin Beaver
Todd Blythe

Exactly!!!!
We have a starting safety right now slotted to take Rodneys' place who is really about 5' 10" and 203lbs who runs a 4.65 40 and can't tackle but...he can't cover either! and everyone says he's a BB favorite. What choice did he have and what could he say about his starter? At the least Woodyard can tackle.
I say Silva would start over that guy but Woodyard might be a superb steal for a SS.
