whats so impressive and surprising Jones' play has been how well he's done in the running game. I think we all felt that he could be of some impact in the pass rush, but most of us felt that it would take some time before he matured enough into a strong run stopper, yet he's been ou tstanding in against the run.
As a team, they are giving up 80 rushing ypg versus 117 ypg last season with about a 3.4 ypc versus 4.0 last year. Now they are about 8th in the league. Granted it is only 1/4 of the season but they have faced quality backs in Ray Rice and CJ, Spiller and Jackson. Buffalo came into yesterday leading the league in rushing. The last three runs when they were running out the clock ( 3 rushes for 20 yards) made their numbers look better than they actually were. While the Pats still have troubles against the pass, they have totally solidified themselves versus the run.
