Now that we are 2 days away from the official start of the season, make your predictions here. How do you guys see the NFL season playing out.

I'm waiting until next week to guess...

13-3. One of the losses is cuz vets are resting for the playoffs. All bets are off in the playoffs, but I give the edge to the Pats.

Damn, took mine :D

I'll say 12-4........... for the same reasons you list, plus that one WTF loss that none of us will be able to explain.

I'll say we're the 2 seed (behind the Sqeelers and their cheesy schedule). Both of us will be in the AFC title game. I'll place FURTHER bets at that time. ;)

I'm assuming the normal number of injuries for the Pats. If they have a healthy season... it could be better.

You can take 13-3, I don't mind sharing.

Mon 9/14/2009 7:00 PM vs Bills = Win
Sun 9/20/2009 1:00 PM @ Jets = Win
Sun 9/27/2009 1:00 PM vs Falcons = Win, but it might be tough
Sun 10/4/2009 1:00 PM vs Ravens = Loss, depends on whos running it better
Sun 10/11/2009 4:15 PM @ Broncos = Win
Sun 10/18/2009 4:15 PM vs Titans = Win, depends on how our DBs tackle
Sun 10/25/2009 1:00 PM @ Buccaneers = Win
Sun 11/1/2009 vs Bye
Sun 11/8/2009 1:00 PM vs Dolphins = Win, mabye a "trap" game?
Sun 11/15/2009 8:20 PM @ Colts = Loss, Peytons last ever W against us...
Sun 11/22/2009 4:15 PM vs Jets = Win
Mon 11/30/2009 8:30 PM @ Saints =Win, but will be a shoot out
Sun 12/6/2009 8:20 PM @ Dolphins = Win
Sun 12/13/2009 1:00 PM vs Panthers = Win
Sun 12/20/2009 1:00 PM @ Bills = Win
Sun 12/27/2009 1:00 PM vs Jaguars = Win, but MJD gives us fits

I'll go with 14-2 (barring major injuries), with losses to the Ravens and Titans.

More important than the record, I see us struggling a bit early on, especially on defense, given all of the youngsters, personnel changes, and new schemes. There will be some mental errors and some blown assignments, which will cost us a game or two. But towards midseason - probably around the bye week after the 7th game - I see the defense coming together and becoming dominant. I see us winning out after the bye week, with shades of 2007 dominance.

great idea...how about a deadline of kickoff time Thursday...certainly before Sunday's games...

19-0 :rocker:

11-5

Our questionable defense has lost one of their very best players. This is a defense with many new parts, a defense that was one of the worst in the league on 3rd down and in the red zone last year.

This year 11-5 should win the division easily.

If we had last year's schedule 12-4 or even better would be reasonable.

I agree mg. Especially with four games down south. I don't think the Patriots history below the Mason-Dixon line is very good. I see them losing at Miami, New Orleans, Houston ( last game, rest the starters), Baltimore and Jets ( why did the Jets pick up O'Connell ?), at home.

I agree. A lot of people have too high of expectations for this years Pats. Lets be honest: Defense wins games and right now our secondary is terrible. If teams can continue to pass on us easily than we will not even make it to the SB.

I view the game @Miami as a trap game coming after a Monday night road game in N'awlins. I wonder if they would stay there versus flying home early on a Tuesday only to fly back down, like they did on the two west coast trips last year...

If we're 13-2 going into the last game the starters probably won't play. You could mark that up as a loss.

13-3

I'm expecting the opposite from you - you have an 8-0 start with a 5-3 finish. I'm expecting a 6-2 start with an 8-0 finish. Heck, we went 4-0 in December last year with Matt Cassel at QB and a porous defense. There's a lot of new folks on the team who will make some mistakes early on and take time to gel, but come December BB should have this team rockin' and rollin'.

Re: Nfl

I actually meant the whole NFL all 32 teams, not just the Patriots.

Sorry, I thought you meant just the Patriots :)
