Post your predictions here for Week 2, New York Jets at New England Patriots.

This contest is open to everyone, it's both a weekly and a season-long contest. Stakes are bragging rights.

Each week I will tabulate and post the scores for the previous week's contest, as well as the cumulative season standings for those who have played every week. As a one-time allowance for computer problems, forgetfulness, or whatever, one week can be missed and will be assigned that week's average score.

Scoring:
Your score is the COMBINED deviation of your predicted score for the Pats and opponents REGARDLESS OF DIRECTION. For example, if you predict Patriots 27 Jets 13 your score is how many points off of 27 the Pats are (over or under does not matter) PLUS how many points off of 17 the Jets are (over or under again does not matter). Game winner does not matter. Lowest score wins.

You may change your prediction at any time before kickoff, either by editing your original post or by adding a new one. Predictions made in other threads don't count unless they were clearly meant for this contest but were posted elsewhere by mistake. Please keep this thread to predictions only, no back-and-forth discussion of the game. A short comment explaining your pick is OK.

Good luck!

There are a number of injury concerns for both the Patriots and the Jets with Amendola, Sudfield and Chris Ivory each entering this game with injuries and Shane Vereen is out for the next 2 plus months.

The Patriots are likely going to run the ball quite a bit with Ridley and Blount while the Jets will likely counter with a similar attack.

The youngters on the Patriots are going to have to step up with the injuries to Vereen, Sudfield and Amendola, even if Amendola is available.

Gostkowski is going to play a key role in this game and should be counted on to kick at least two field goals.

Patriots win 23 - 10.

omg ban this troll.

17-10 Patriots. I think the Pats win but 19 points will take some help from either special teams (Leon Washington says hi!) or Defense.

Lots of injuries and a short week lead the offense to one of their lowest production games of the season. Luckily its against the Jets and their offense is just as pathetic. Pound the rock with Riddles give him a chance to regain his (and everyone elses) confidence that he won't fumble. Control the clock and go on a lot of long time consuming drives. The pats have one of the best o-lines in football and is one of the few units still intact. Let them win the game.
