Like any rational football fan I hate the Pro Bowl, but how many Pro Bowlers do you think the Pats will have this year? I know this is meaningless, but this time of year is dominated by threads about DUIs and how much Ochocinco is ruining the NFL so i figure why not, might be fun to revisit when the results come out. Plus I think this team has a chance at having a pretty ridiculous number represented.

Last year we had 8, I think the following are legitimate possibilities:

Brady
Lloyd
Welker
Gronk
Hernandez
Waters
Mankins
Solder
Vollmer
Slater
Chung
Arrington
McCourty
Wilfork
Mayo
Spikes

Any other candidates?

I don't include any of the RBs as legit candidates because even if one breaks out he's very unlikely to put up enough stats on his own to make it.

I don't think any of the rookies or guys like Dowling make it because you have to be other worldly to pull that off.

None of the other WRs or TEs are likely to make a big enough impact.

The DL seems to be very unpredictable with guys like Scott and Fanene being somewhat unpredictable and the rest are just big beefy bodies at this point. Carter I don't think is coming back, it's a serious injury to come back for for a guy that relies on explosiveness at his age.

There's a couple of OLers that I think might be possibilities but that might just be the homer in me.

Maybe someone like Gregory could randomly break out but who knows.

Brady

Chung, Lloyd are dark horses... but you always have to get past the top 2 in Reed and Polomalu for safteys.

Other dark horse candidates are McCourty and Hightower.

0, because they will be playing the week after...

Nice answer, but they can be named to the Pro Bowl and still not play in it. ;)

Question says in, not named or play in! So I am going for play ;)

Edelperson could be a dark horse at PR.

My List:
Brady
Lloyd
Welker
Gronk
Waters
Mankins
Solder
Slater
Wilfork
Mayo

Just missing the cut
Hernandez: I see him having less of an impact this year with the added WRs. Being this is a popularity contest guys like Gates will beat him out anyway
Vollmer: He was battling injuries issues last year and while I hope he has a healthy season I dont think he'll play a full 16 games
Chung: Same for Chung with the injuries
Arrington: Poised for a down year now that teams see his ability
McCourty: Had his down year and should step up, but probably not enough to make the probowl.
Spikes: Will lose some reps to Hightower

You guys forgot one- Chandler Jones baby!!!:rocker:
