I'd be willing to be pretty much any amount of money that they are not losing 3 games in a row.

11 - 5 this year with post season at least AFCE Champs

In the BB/TB era, here have been their offensive ranks:

Year (record): Pts Rank / Yds Rank / #1 Rusher / #1 Receiver
2001 (11-5): #6 / #19 / A.Smith (1157 yds) / T.Brown (1199 yds)
2002 (9-7): #10 / #21 / A.Smith (982 yds) / T.Brown (890 yds)
2003 (14-2): #12 / #17 / A.Smith (642 yds) / Branch (803 yds)
2004 (14-2): #4 / #7 / Dillon (1635 yds) / Givens (874 yds)
2005 (10-6): #10 / #7 / Dillon (733 yds) / Branch (998 yds)
2006 (12-4): #7 / #11 / Dillon (812 yds) / Caldwell (760 yds)
2007 (16-0): #1 / #1 / Maroney (835 yds) / Moss (1493 yds)
2008 (11-5): #8 / #5 / Morris (727 yds) / Welker (1165 yds)
2009 (10-6): #6 / #3 / Maroney (757 yds) / Welker (1348 yds)
2010 (14-2): #1 / #8 / Green-Ellis (1008 yds) / Welker (848 yds)
2011 (13-3): #3 / #2 / Green-Ellis (667 yds) / Welker (1569 yds)
2012 (12-4): #1 / #1 / Ridley (1263 yds) / Welker (1354 yds)

So if we take out 2008, b/c of the Brady injury, the last time they had an offense that was out of the top 5 in scoring was 2009. But that was Brady's recovery season, so that gets an asterisk, and even then, they were ranked 6th. Before that, it was 2006. In that year, here were Brady's numbers:

61.8%, 3529 yds, 24 td, 12 int, 87.9 rating

Pretty pedestrian, though not shabby. They had two decent RBs in Dillon and Maroney (combined for more than 1500 yards). And Reche Caldwell was their #1 receiver (with Ben Watson in at #2).

Now, their RBs are better than in 2006. Their WR corps is better, IMO, with Amendola being better than Caldwell and Gronk being better than Watson. Even though other guys are unproven, I still think the talent level is better than it was in 2006. So the offense should be better than it was in 2006.

What made that 2006 team really good wasn't the offense (though it was definitely an above-average offense). It was a really good defense. Ranked #2 in points and #6 in yards allowed. I do not think we will see the 2013 Patriots with those kinds of defensive rankings.

Now that 2006 team went 12-4 and lost in the AFCCG when they wilted under the heat of the dome in Indianapolis (aided by a nasty flu bug that hit the team). Should have won that game and the Super Bowl against the Bears.

Do I see this team doing something similar? Who knows. I still have them down for 11-5 minimum, and I'm optimistically hoping for 13-3 and the #1 seed.
