This has been mentioned in numerous threads but a Federal judge issued an injunction against Indiana in their new anti-abortion legislation.

This will go through many more Judges and the taxpayers will pick up the bill. Nice to see the Republicans being fiscally responsible  They passed a law that they knew would be unconstitutional and now the Indiana taxpayers are footing the bill.

PP is the one filing the lawsuit not the State of Indiana. No cost at all if they don't sue.

The federal court simply granted an injunction to PP, PF13. Which means the federal court has, for now, sided with Medicaid - which says that states cannot restrict a person's choice of health care provider. The US Justice Department has also filed a brief saying the same thing.

So yes, the State is going to foot the bill to defend themselves.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt granted Planned Parenthood's request for an injunction in striking down the law's defunding provision as unconstitutional, and siding with federal Medicaid officials who have said states cannot disqualify Medicaid providers merely because they also offer abortions.
The U.S. Justice Department also had filed a brief siding with Planned Parenthood, with attorneys saying the law restricts Medicaid recipients' freedom to choose their health care provider.

Do you work for PPH, enjoy dead babies or are you just an abortion aficionado?

Either I messed up on my post replying to PatsFanInEaglesLand earlier or it was deleted. Interesting.

Other aspect from the Judges decision. This case may go to the USSC. Unintended consequences for PP and the Abortion industry perhaps:

Federal judge: life begins at conception | LifeSiteNews.com

The Judge is stating the obvious as does the law. Now if this holds ie Life begins at conception then the infant in the womb is granted 14th amendment rights. That was acknowledged in Roe, of course science has advanced since Roe.

It's far from obvious, unless the term "human physical life" is held to mean something different from "human life." If that's the case, however, there's no reason a "human physical life" would have constitutional rights, including those granted by the 14th amendment.

(Even if it were held to mean the same thing, in which case it's far from obvious that it is true, there would need to be a constitutional amendment to re-define who qualifies under the 14th amendment... I think...)

OT: Btw, since you do believe that life begins at conception -- and I certainly grant that you could be right -- do you think that all miscarriages should require at least minimal police investigations?

What does the site have to do with the words uttered by the Judge in the decision?

Or to the impact on the issue?

A miscarriage is a natural biological process. If OTOH the mother and child are assaulted and the child dies as a result of the attack should charges be brought only on the assault on the Mother?

For example a woman is 6 months pregnant, she is pushed and hits a wall. She is not injured herself but the baby is killed. Does the perf just get charged with a misdemeanor for shoving the woman?

Abortion is still legal in this Country no matter what some states try to do.

Question: As a man why do you feel like you are the moral authority on this issue?

A miscarriage is a natural biological process, if it isn't brought on by the mother's actions. Just like a baby or any other human can die from natural causes.

But shouldn't there be an investigation to make sure? What if she in some way caused it? That has to be manslaughter, murder, or at least negligence, no?

The law says once a baby is born, it's a baby.

The law says before that, it's a fetus.

Your church might tell you otherwise. It does not matter.

Why do you support government choosing what health provider a woman uses?

Why are pubblies so selectively big-government in this regard?

Criminal investigation and possible charges. That's why I'm asking you the question.

Yeah, this is where PF13's views get super awesome. If life begins at egg fertilization, then fertility docs better get prepared for multiple criminal cases. I mean talk about mass murder and unlawful imprisonment. They need to be stopped before abortion docs. Go fight that battle.

In most of the world a women's right to choose means the right to choose not to have women.
