    #3 Jersey

You know, the AFC North isn't quite the crapshoot of suck that is the NFC, but it's certainly shaping up to be a crapshoot. . . . (well, except for the Browns--they, alas for RAC, do suck).

AFC East-easy, NE, not even close

West-Norv Turner will snatch defeat from the hands of V too many times-Denver will pull it out at the end

North-Baltimore is head and shoulders above everyone else. Thomlin will be successful in Pitt, but he'll go through the growing pains in yr 1.

    South-Jax will dethrone Indy

Yep,ctpatsfan77 - Thats exactly why I put 3 teams in for that north division instead of 2 for the rest..There is just about no chance any team but the two in the other divisions is going to win it,but the 3 in the north each have a shot,IMO Pittsburgh is the longshot of the 3 but still they will be dangerous if Roethlisberger shows any kind of arm this year.

Even though Lebeau will still call the 3-4, Thomlin's a Cover 2 guy, and pretty much has little knowledge of the 3-4 attacking scheme.

Pt being that what if something goes wrong in the game? Will Thomlin be able to second guess anything?

    I went with:

    New England- obvious
    Jacksonville- better defense
Pittsburgh- I have a soft spot for Pittsburgh
San Diego- Hate their guts, too much talent, hope I'm wrong.

New England is, barring injuries, a no-brainer.
I still like Indy for their division, because I don't see the other teams being strong enough just yet. I think their offence is still too good and I think their D will be better this year; it can't be any worse and they have some young players who will improve.
I'm guessing at Baltimore for the Central on the grounds of talent and coaching. I agree that Tomlin will need a couple of years to get Pitt back to where they are generally.
I picked Denver in the West because they are coached by Mike Shanahan and not Norv Turner. San Diego is a potential SB winner of the future, but they REALLY need to sort out the management and coaching of that team.

    #54 Jersey

    I went with
    New England- no duh
Cincinnati - I don't see Steve McNair being healthy all season two years in a row, Pittsburgh has a first year coach which is always iffy.
Indianapolis - Have little faith in Jacksonville, just something about them.
Denver - They will challenge the Pats for the AFC title.

East - NE, JETS take a step back
South - Indy easily as no other team breaks .500
North - Cincy because someone has to
West - SD will edge Denver

ditto here... (with DEN and JAX as wildcards)
    Technical question ..
    Pats 29 votes 100%
    Jets 1 vote 3.45%

It's been a while since I took math or stats but methinks it might not be
    quite right.....

    Pats
    SD
    Indy
    Baltimore

Denver and Pittsburgh are the wild cards. I pick denver to have the third best record in the conference behind NE and SD (not by much).

    New England - Well yeah.
Cincy - Baltimore needs a QB, Pitts has the first year coach issue.
Indy - Rumors of their demise are premature, they'll still be an offensive force
Denver - SD is a more talented team, but I'd go with the better coach on this one.

It's because Patsfan24 voted for both the Jests and the Patriots. Hence, everyone that voted at all on the poll, has picked the Pats as one of the four.

had to go with san diego over denver. To me, they're both unknown quantities. San Diego retained a lot of their team except for their coaches, inside linebackers, and a hurt wr. Denver ostensibly improved their team in the post season but did lose Al Wilson and their number one draft pick (their DL might suck yet again). I think Denver is a bigger unknown because we know less about how Cutler is going to play. We know that Rivers will be pretty good. Of course, all this means is that I'm being conservative and picking the team that one last year--not very creative. meh.

My picks too. Pitt is a year out of the SB. The Colts have just lost too much. Denver is coming, but just lost anohter LB; they aren't deep enough to recover from that.

You guys didn't hear this is the year the JEST win the East?

    Heh.

    Okay seriously...

Too many Bungles will have the black and white removed from their uniforms, and end up with orange jumpsuits. At the very least, let's say there is a distraction factor in Cinci this year. I like McErr at 102 years old better than Boller in his prime, and the Ravens did okay with the latter.

    Baltimore in the North

Indy in the South, but the gap is closing w/Jax

    NE in the East

San Diego in the West; again, Denver is closing but not there yet.

Yes, I just predicted last year. Somebody, in some division (or many of them, just not ours) prove me wrong.

Your list is seven teams short.
If one of those seven win their division I'm bringing this thread back.

The only division winner from last year that I picked was NE. Cinci, Denver, Jax( I couldn't pick Houston). I'm not counting Indy out. In Houston this is Kubiaks 2nd season and also they have been drafting D for a few years now.

PS The same four teams will NOT win again this year.

There is a finite number of options that you can place in a poll. 10 is the maximum number of choices, the OP listed 9 in his poll. How he left off the Dolphins, I'll never know.
    Why? Nana-nana-boo-boo points?

I didn't know the parameters. I apologize. I still want to pick Houston.
