FBI: Plotting suicide bomber arrested near U.S. Capitol building in sting - Crimesider - CBS News

WASHINGTON - The FBI says it has arrested a man who thought he on his way to carry out a bombing attack at the U.S. Capitol building, but who, in reality, was dealing with FBI undercover operatives all along.

According to a Capitol Hill source, the suspect is Amine El Khalifi, 29, a Moroccan citizen who has lived in the U.S. for over 12 years. Law enforcement officials said he was arrested Friday morning after he put on what he thought was a vest containing explosives. In fact, the Justice Department says, the vest had inert material that was not explosive.

I guess you could call that a "Life Vest", because it is going to get him
    life in prison.

Give him bacon for breakfast, ham sandwich for lunch and a pork dinner. .

Kudos to the FBI and anyone else who played a role.

Good thing we've spent all that blood and treasure fighting terrorists in Iraq and Afghan. We might have never caught this Moor.

Smart police work- not trashing countries and killing children- will keep us safer. That and securing the ports, because that's where the real danger lies.

Can you say False Flag Operation? Actually it's a False False Flag to be more accurate.

Get ready for more in the coming months before Iran has a few bombs dropped on it.
Is this Moroccan guy the latest Gulf of Tonkin - he'll be linked to Iran soon enough.

We are supposed to believe that this guy could blow up a building when in actuality he was too dumb to know he had a gun that would not fire ... seriously ... there's more to why this story came to be.

What's so hard about that? I'd expect 1/2 of all potential terrorists to not be able to tell if a gun's loaded or not. Its not like they have the same training facilities and opportunities as the USMC. For the other 1/2 all you'd need to do is dummy up some real rounds with like flour where the gunpowder and primer are supposed to be. As long as the weight is right, a bullet is a bullet until its fired or, like in this case, not fired;)

Sounds a bit like this guy came up with a moronic idea - mentioned it to a few people who mentioned it to a few more people and got led around by the nose until he ended up attempting to carry out a moronic idea he never would have been capable of carrying out by himself.

What kind of an idiot doesn't check out his weapon for himself? Only the blindest, stupidest, most trusting sort of imbicile doesn't take at least the most rudimentary steps to assure himself of success in his chosen endeavor. (Let's see - I'm going to go kill a bunch of people - is my gun loaded? - How hard is that?)

Why go to all the time and expense of setting up one not-so-bright individual when all they had to do was deport him immediately upon the first complaint from his landlord? His visa was expired, he was here illegally - send him home. It doesn't sound like he was going to lead us to a network of terrorists - there wasn't much in it for the FBI or Homeland Security or anyone else, for that matter. One guy - one pretty stupid guy -- and all those manpower hours essentially wasted and all that money spent when they could have bought him a one way plane ticket back to Morocco and good riddance.

Now we've got a huge expensive trial and a lifetime of housing and feeding and caring for this guy.

They would have been accused of RACISM, Violating His Civil Liberties and Muslimphobia, common sense law enforcement can't be used anymore, REALITY CAN"T BE FACED.

DON'T OFFEND CRIMINALS OR TERRORISTS ESPECIALLY YOU KNOW WHO.

"Common sense law enforcement" worked here.

Your paranoia and hatred of Muslims apparently has blinded you to the simple reality.

But you and 13 should keep trying to derail this thread to put forth your own biased agendas.

    Agree.

Be interesing to see if the same people who have been expressing "outrage" about the Michigan militia dorks getting set up by the Feds show the same outrage for this fellow loser- who was essentially set up by the Feds, too. Doubt it. Cue the "They are American citizens" responses in three...two...one....

and he won't ever be returning from Morroco, smarter and better equipped to carry out terrorist acts.

What would Khalid Sheik Mohammed be doing right now if we had just deported him?

Doesn't do any good to deport anyone they just come back through Mexico and we give them a whole fist full of food stamps.

Aunt Zucchini and Uncle Omar should have been deported long ago.
