That would be the end of us....truly would.

Can we bring back John Wayne please?

Or maybe a younger Clint Eastwood....

"If somebody is dumb enough to ask me to go to political convention and say something, they're gonna have to take what they get."

    Tough guy speak like that?

someone with the BALLZ to really stick it to the man, and call a candidate 'dumb', right?

I wonder who just said the above quote...I'll find it eventually, maybe its somewhere in the empty chair next to me...I'll scream at it for a while and get back to you.

    http://www.5min.com/Video/Clint-Eastwoods-Pet-Project-517187844

there is video of a young Clint Eastwood, sticking it to the man by having his wife explain his "pet-project" of protecting the land some developer wanted to turn into condos. Doesn't give a reason, just an emotional telling of why he wants to protect the land.

You still have the racist a-hole John Wayne card to play.

I think if you are going to use the thread ignore feature then it should remove your posts from said thread when you use it :)

    Please.

Jimmy Stewart, Ted Williams, Oliver Stone, Lee Marvin, George H.W. Bush and John Kerry were war heroes.

John Wayne was a hypocritical lily livered draft dodger who made his career in Hollywood when the real heroes were overseas fighting for the country.

Only a superficial sucker would pine away for John Wayne.

I know! The OP could have written how much he admires the leadership abillities of The Incredible Hulk or Spiderman.

....oooh, oooh, we REALLY need to have Speed Racer in the White House!!!!! :D :D :D

Feelings are what makes us human. Feelings are what makes a society help the children, feed the poor, oppose war, protect the innocent, oppose child abuse. Drug addicts use heroin to turn off their feelings. But, humans are not machines. We have feelings, thank God.

John Wayne was a cartoon character. He wasn't a real man.

Feelings are also what makes us hate and kill. John Wayne was a real man. Who are you to say he wasn't?

John Wayne was a b-grade actor who is all but forgotten except by elderly right wingers. He was a parody of manhood even though he smoked 5 packs of cigarettes a day.

Yes, you're right that feelings are what makes us hate and kill, but they are also what makes us human. Take away our feelings, and we're robots. The reason that communism failed was because they tried to apply scientific principles to human beings, and that doesn't work. The fact is that democratic systems allow feelings to be expressed, and repressive systems tend to collapse because of feelings.

Ok, so being a bad actor and smoking makes a person a parody of manhood? Ha, I bet a lot of your friends in this forum smoke and can not act.

Seriously, you might want to think a little before posting, because that is complete rubbish.

John Wayne is to manliness and PeeWee Herman is to a child. For westerns, I preferred James Arness.

It's an opinion, Hamar. I like westerns, but I've never been a fan of Wayne.

I edited that line out, but too late. I'm not really trying to get into an argument about Hollywood movie stars. I don't care that much about them.

Ah heck....just wanted to see if my gut "feeling" that mostly libs would respond was correct....

....and by golly, youz guys confirmed it for me! Some even double and triple posted as if it bothered ya....well good.

The reality is that a president needs to be rational, level-headed and pragmatic....one who is EMOTIONAL and worried about offending people is ineffective and dangerous.

    Kerry was THERE.

At the very same time, John ChickenHawk Wayne was on a MOVIE LOT fraudently wearing a Green Beret and advocating others go into battle. THAT is the OP's "real hero".

What is confirmed by this is that you desperately need attention and are not getting it in your offline life.
