Playoff Scenarios - Week 14

If the Jets get into the playoffs, that will only make them more dangerous next year because they will believe in themselves. I want them to enjoy as little success as possible for as long a possible. Period. Same goes for every other team in our division.

Amen to this. Confidence goes a long way as an orginization. If they make the playoffs in Mangini's first year, then Next year they'll be a very dangerous team, IMO.

Remember how
in years of yore
with about 3 games left we'd be parsing all the permutations
that would let us simply
get into the playoffs?

Isn't it more fun
taxing our brains over
seeding?

You are forgetting about common games, which comes before strength of victory. If San Diego beats Denver they are undefeated in common games, while we have a loss (to Denver).
So bottom line is, we need the Cutler led Broncos to upset in SD. Not promising...

Updated after Thursday game, Sunday 1:00 games, Sunday 4:00 games, SNF and MNF.

Also all the information on current division leaders, wild cards, and wild card hopefuls:

Coolest though is the brackets webpage where you can see who plays who (at least the first round) if the season ended right now:

Except thatt the third is WRONG.

The #1 Colts would play the lowest rated of the WC round. If Ravens and Pats hold seed, the Colts #1 host Pats #4 and Bolts #2 host Ravens #3...

Re: The Scenario

Assuming the Pats ended as the #4 seed, and beat the Jets @ Foxboro.

I would love to go to Colts land and beat them there while the Ravens upset the Bolts. Then we host the Ravens at Foxboro, to face da Bears or the 'Boys @ Miami.

Thats not a bad route to the Lombardi.:D

I don't think it will happen because I still expect us to be higher than a #4 seed.
