I think it would be a good idea to have one thread that people can post top 100, 200, 300+ players list from the various sites. then we don't have several different threads and we can just go to one for the info.

Here is one from NFLFANS.com

here are the Patriots picks as of 2/10/08.

PATRIOTS 7 62 69 94 125 156 188 220

Not that it makes much of a difference, but that pick can actually be 66, 68, or 69. (It can't be 67, b/c that's where the JEST will pick in round 3.)

It does make a difference. One spot one way or the other can mean the difference in a bust or a great player.

That came from the Huddle Report.

Top 64 with capsules...

Actually a top 100 but the top 64 have brief capsules written by nfldraftscout's Cooney. This is probably the best reference in this thread so far for those unfamiliar with the draft's top prospects -- especially the first two rounds:

Excellent write-up. Going by their rankings sign me up for
1. V.Gholston - olb Get our pass-rusher to spell Vrabel/Colvin.
2. B. Flowers - cb Throw him into the fire. Hope he can go.
3a P.Wheeler - ilb He would push our vets and maybe start by 2nd year.
3B J.King - cb Developmental player. Needs work on technique. Might be
worth the risk if he develops into starting player.

Re: DB positional rankings now added...

NFLDraftscout's publisher Frank Cooney does a weekly positional analysis leading up to the draft. Three positions up so far:

Defensive Linemen

Linebackers

Defensive Backs

Based on those (and other) write-ups, there appears to be holes in all the top CBs', and also Keith Rivers', games. I really, really hope that we can execute a trade if neither Gholston nor the Longs are available at #7. I would feel better drafting DRC, McKelvin or Rivers in the teens and have an extra pick, than drafting either of them at #7 with no other pick until #62.
