Pittsburgh remembers...it was God's fault and the Patriots cheated

I believe it comes down to the fact that the Pats are keeping the Steelers from "their place in the sun". A good case of this is 2007. The pats Steelers game had huge ratings.

However, it drove Steeler fans nuts to know that the huge ratings bonanza was part of the Pats- Chargers/Cowboys/Colts/Steelers/Giants viewing of 2007.

They don't want to be a spoke on the wheell driving the NFL.

That 2004 game is probably one of my all time favorites. I was in Vegas, brutally hung over. I probably should have been in the hospital -- a guy who I was out drinking with the night before ended up there. In any case, by the end of the game I felt great.

I was at the game. Second-coldest I've ever been at a game (coldest was the home playoff vs. Tennessee). I'll never forget that perfect touchdown bomb to Branch.

It was amazing to read some of those fan comments about how they hate Bruschi and are convinced he did steroids.

I don't know if I've just forgotten the time leading up to those 2 games or what, but I don't recall ever feeling like the Steelers scared me or that the Pats had no chance to win. I was pretty confident both times and I don't know why so many Steeler fans act like those games were such devastating upsets. The Pats were really good teams both years, especially 2004......

I had no doubt we were going to win in 2004, the thing that surprised me was giving up as many points as we did in that game because after the Colts game I thought we were going to steamroll right to the title. One thing I feel is lacking from the titles is a sure fire ass kicking in the Superbowl. We should have given one to the Panthers but Brady threw that bad interception in the end zone, and I still feel we should have beaten the Eagles by more than we did.

He wanted too, but the moment was kind of intense and he was typing one-handed so he dropped the excess letters. :yeeha:

the letters probably wasn't all that he dropped. :yeeha:

ok ok, no more off topic :p

I'm tired of Steelers fans and the media pointing to videotaping signals as the reason they lost the AFC Championship game against the Pats in the 2004 season. The Steelers turned the ball over 4 times on offense that game including a INT for TD by Harrison.

Also, if you look at the first three quarters, the Pats punted as many times as they scored.

Lastly, everyone points to the difference in scores between the regular season game and the AFC Championships but fail to acknowledge that Corey Dillon was inactive in the regular season game where the Pats rushed for 5 total yards on 6 carries. They also ignore that Ty Law broke his foot in the first quarter and an inexperience undrafted rookie free agent took his spot.

Anyone read the #2 heartbreaking Steelers loss...the one to Dallas in SB 30? Funny how so many people are convinced Neil O'Donnell was actually paid off to intentionally throw the game.

I told a big Steelers fan that we were going to destroy them in the AFC title game.

He held up six fingers and made mongoloid noises. And began drooling slightly.

Neil O'Donnell did svck that day.:p

Boo Hoo, poor Steeler fans; 6 SB titles and they feel they got jobbed out of another due to pure luck and yet another due to cheating.

Steelers fans seem to forget the immaculate reception. One of the luckiest plays in NFL playoff history.

Yeah but they didn't win the Superbowl that year so I guess it's somehow different. Somehow.

I just re-read the comments and I'll need to take my earlier comment back. I had a feeling it would just be a matter of time before the "Pats won only because they cheated" excuses would start.

Oh no; see, if it happens for the Steelers, it's through skill, hard work and that blue collar mentality. If it happens against them, it's luck or cheating, get it?

Also, that play was totally illegal as back in those days, the ball could not bounce off of one offensive player and into the hands of another, it was ruled an incomplete pass. Watch the replay and you will see it clearly does, yet the refs in that game had their collective sacks shrivel up and did not correctly wave it off and call it an incomplete pass.

The story goes one of the refs asked what kind of security escort they could get out of the stadium if they reversed that call and we're basically told "None; you'll be torn limb from limb", so the play stood.

Had their been instant replay back in those days, the call gets reversed and the toilet known as three rivers stadium would have been burned to the ground.

Between that play, the tuck rule and the fumble that wasn't in Denver vs the Broncos, the Raiders feel like they got screwed out of three other Super Bowl titles.

Too effin bad Raiders, you got a gift in 76, so deal with it.

And sack up Stooler fans; more Super Bowl titles than any other team and you're wallowing in self pity over terrible playoff defeats. This coming AFTER you just had a Super Bowl title gift wrapped by Brady being out all year, lighten up. Look, we all know living in Pittsburg blows, but isn't there anything else better to do with your free time?

The Raiders always feel like they get screwed.

And how quickly they forget about the 1995 AFC Championship Game. Kordell had a "liitle bit larger playing field than the rest" ;). And don't get me started about how they were gifted SB XL. And I have the video to prove it.

Did anyone ever stop and think about the 2001 AFC title game? Exactly how would spygate (which even the owners of the league, you know, the ones who should be the most angry, moved on from a year ago) help the Patriots in that game? It was the first time Belichick was the head coach of the Patriots facing the Steelers. They started stealing signals in 2000.

In addition to that, the Patriots had like 150 yards of total offense and really won by two touchdowns via special teams.

Well they are talking about 2004.
They attribute 2001 to God.

Isn't it ironic that the team that was most tied to steroids wants to accuse others of winning because of cheating?

Fans of the team, I don't know that the Steelers have taken an official position on any of this.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans are the dumbest on the planet except for the Liverpool, England, "football" fans.

I've heard a cricket team in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) has dumb fans, also.

Ever give instructions to Pittsburgh fans? A nightmare. I'm sure the anteater slug in Ice Age is a Steelers fan.
