This is the kind of thing that makes you wish they'd gotten off on the right foot.
National media takes their lead from what their local brethren (who take their lead from each other) are preaching. I think the nationals (and each others) had finally given up on ours knowing anything because their agendas (which run the gamut from being smarter than Bill to merely being smarter than their readers) have caused them to be wr...wr...wrong so often on everything from talent assessment to the existence of tapes... When persuing your agenda is costing you and not your target is when you finally relinquish it, at least for a time... Of course this ramps up the pressure on this HC and team to deliver because if they don't after the Boston media has finally begun to genuflect at the alter...they will morph back into women scored with a vengance...
Borges hopes this is part one to the "Hubris of Belichick" "Arrogance of Belichick" or whatever companion piece he hopes to write if we don't win it all.
Hmm... I may have to look into this.. It wasn't that long ago that I said many of the same things about BB this year.. I bet that Borges saw my message and used it...
He's just covering his ass in case the Pats win it all. If they do, then he can say, see I was smart. If they don't he'll be back to writing his usual diatribes against the Pats and BB in general.
Umm, Darryl - - just for curiosity's sake - - what in the thread title and link caused you to believe that it might NOT be a column written by Ron Borges in the Boston Herald?
