Just curious to see what some here think of him. The right kind of hates him LOL.

I could give or take him ... I'm not into the snooty variety of news channel people. But I don't hate him and he is highly intelligent and I always value intelligence in my opinion of these people.

Reason for that is I may not agree with them or I may ... if they're smart I figure it's worth listening to. Not like their throwing crap in the air to see where it lands for instance. Sometimes you see things differently when intelligent people lay it out there professionally. I may still not agree with them but they gain my respect for doing it well IMO. Can't just listen to people I mostly agree with - i don't believe in that.

Anyways ... just curious ... thus the thread.

I'm to the right so I must hate him. Actually I don't watch him or listen to him so I really have no opinion of him. I do know there is a petition in the US to throw him out and one in England to not let him back.

I really dislike him. He's an uppity Brit who looks down his nose at America/Americans in general and considers it a badge of honor. He doesn't belong here and doesn't relate well because he considers it beneath his dignity to leave his very smug comfort zone. I more or less avoid him unless his guest is someone I know will put him in his place.

I do not care for him, but am aghast at the duplicity of the right who rails about the constitution, but wants to silence him..

The same game plan they have used for a while, remember the efforts to silence "The Dixie Chicks"?? After the right got their panties in a bunch over the seven words they said, the Dixie Chicks received death threats and threats of rape..

Our Constitution, does not qualify that free speech only belongs to natural born citizens..

LOL... oh no? And why not?

What does this even mean, exactly?

I see.... So, to hell with the subject matter. I'll only watch if the guest is just as obnoxious. Got it.

One petition calls for Piers to be deported (with 88,143 signatures so far) and another petition from the Britts asking that he be keep here (7,706 signatures)....lol.

They hypocrisy continues, while demanding the so called 2nd amendment rights be protected those same defenders of the constitution now want to deny someone their first amendment rights..

The first amendment does not qualify who has free speech, everyone is guaranteed it on this soil..'

Guess these defenders of liberty do not enjoy dialogue, just monologue..

Cool story... Now follow up and provide examples of his "corruption" and "manipulation"... Can't wait.

Before you start, he was cleared of all Viglen charges. Awww...

I'm sorry if some people are butthurt that Morgan showed photos of British soldiers abusing Iraqi detainees, but that doesn't make him corrupt NOR dishonest.

So the flag bearer of the second amendment wants to violate someone else's first amendment rights.. good luck trying, this will go about as far as the Texas Secession..

As much as you dream about it, people will not be silenced..

Since you asked nicely, I will note that my impressions are just that -- impressions gleaned from watching him on multiple occasions. He routinely postures as an Englishman making observations from a Brit-centric perspective. Saying things like, "In my country, we do it this way," etc., and pointing out how the British social/governmental/whatever approach is superior. True or not, I find his condescending ways irritating.

Let me clarify: he doesn't belong on CNN in prime time. Because many American broadcast journalists are eminently more qualified to do what he's attempting to do.

It means that he doesn't allow himself to relate to American issues through American perspectives.

Why would a guest who puts that snot in his place be automatically deemed "just as obnoxious"? No, you don't "got it."

OK, fair enough. ... I don't. I find it welcomed perspective on issues from the best interviewer of our closest ally. I already know what "American-centric" perspective maintains.

CNN hired him to replace Larry King, who lost his fastball a long time ago. Obviously they feel Piers asks the hard questions that matter and doesn't let guests off the hook. I, often, see that quality in him as well. That's what I look for in a journalist, not a Larry King coffee chat.

It's part of the reason I often prefer the BBC and Le Monde to CNN or WaPo.

And frankly, our "who cares what other countries think" attitude is part of the problem, entirely.

Really? Who? By what criteria? Their "Americanism?" More specifically, who at CNN that doesn't already have a time slot?

That's quite a stretch. But don't let that get in the way of your misplaced nationalism.

    Oh, so it's "snot."

    Must be more "impressions."

Let me know when you can cite a specific example of PM showing himself as "unqualified" and "snotty."
