Let's play draft game. I'll list a player, and the subsequent poster will reply with a one-sentence description of the player and whether or not he's a good fit for the team. That poster will then supply a name, and the next poster will give his mini-analysis and a new prospect. Etc. I'm hoping for a fun, fast-moving thread. I'll start off with a super easy one, but I plan on introducing a lot of sleepers in the future.

McClain is an adequate 3-4 ILB, with some scheme versatility, there are questions surrounding the talent level he played behind covering up any defects, but he seems to be a fit for NE - however, he's a luxury pick and not a significant upgrade to the current roster.

Quick for a 300+ pound DT but doesn't really dominate in either the running or passing game. Needs to be stronger at the POA. Late round project pick with good upside.

Solid Iowa OG, technically proficient in zone and man blocking, mobile, may have enough lateral agility to play some OT; coming off a broken leg, saw very limited reps in the Orange Bowl and will require a thorough medical evaluation.

A good late round value pick as a TE. A little short but great hands. Shows some desire to block. Lower tier competition but played decent in the Texas versus the nation. Probably a sixth rounder.

Small school h-back with underrated athleticism, good hands, and surprising pop in his blocking, though with plenty of room for development in that area--could fill the role David Thomas flirted with, but with perhaps better production in the running game.

(Sorry, cousin, looks like I posted right on top of you.)

Wooten is a bit of a tweener--I've seen him projected as a 43 DE, a 34 DE, a 34 OLB, and even as an undertackle--but is likely to succeed regardless, due to his great length (6'7), added bulk (#285), improving strength at the POA, high motor, and surprising change of direction skills. Must recover pre-injury burst to warrant first round draft grade, but should prove a solid pro.

Small school DE/LB project, good lateral agility, speed rush, demonstrated some facility to play in reverse during TvN week, played MLB during the game showing some position versatility, adequate size for 3-4 LB.

Speedy and quick WR/KR/PR capable of playing inside or outside, very productive in a spread offense specializing in the short passing game with YAC, may need some route tree development and refinement, early entry.

    #54 Jersey

Nice looking, consistent, big bodied WR from a spread offense who was rarely asked to run more than 4 or 5 routes in his career, doesn't have the greatest speed, but does have excellent hands and the ability to find an open spot, as well as using his size to win jump balls.

older brother is Donte Whitner who was a first round pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2006 NFL draft. An agile pass-rusher who needs to elevate his game into becoming a more effective run stopper. At 6'4", 250#, Witten is best suited as an outside linebacker in the 3-4 defensive scheme. Projected as a mid-round pick but his stock rose after the Shrine game.

Thomas looked to be a first-round pick at the beginning of the season, but his stock has dropped a bit since. He finished the year with just 23 tackles and has had some ankle issues so will need to look at that. Late round project now tho.

    Disable Jersey

    Haha indeed! :D

Will either revolutionize the NFL or be a back-up tight end.

Converted RB to WR early entry prospect noted for his shifty open field running and return skills, needs improvement in route running and gaining separation from defenders.
