PFT: Broncos P Sauerbrun gets 4-game suspension for Ephedra

So you disagree based on a technicality about scientific dose levels? I can live with that.

I imagine that the guy from the Vikings was accurately measuring his milligrams of ephedra and then coffee and mixing it all precisely.

Not just wolfing down half the can, like a fired up lineman trying to cling onto his starting job, from Dennis Green's doghouse for fat players. ;)

I disagree with what you said, because it was wrong. Way wrong. :)

Geeze, I didn't realize popping two pills was so complicated. Funny how the caffiene pills at Walmart are exactly 200mg and the ephedra pill is exactly 25mg. (Although, post ban they're supposed to be limited to 10mg per pill, so geeze, it's going to get even more complicated.) ;)

I just think it's ridiculous to ban a perfectly legitimite substance simply because people might not use it correctly.

Broncos need a backup punter now :D

Yeah, I see what you're saying, and that was my initial reaction too... but the NFL does have a right to protect themselves. I mean honestly, a good many NFL players have demonstrated a profound lack of common sense. (I don't need to wear a helmet on my motorcycle because the law uhhhh says so.) ;)

HAHAHAHAHA.

He acts like his dream has come true. He will be cut shortly after week 3.

Moderation and common sence is the issue here with all natural things.

Take water, nice cold water. If you are seriously dehydrated and take a nice

long drink of cold water, say a quart or so, you will probably die.

If you doubt this read about 19th century soldiers in the south west.

It is documented that drinking too much water in certain instances can

cause your demise.

Also, take over reaction, it is killing just about everything, ya think.?

We don't need to ban everything to save us from ourselves, even common sence, which is in short supply these days :)

Nice guess, but he was actually cut today. :)

The biggest scam now extant is the "good old medicine" hawked by outfits like GNC. Uncontrolled dosages and anecdotal remedies without any scientific basis, herbal supplement without efficacy, are the stock in trade, protected by a loophole in the drug laws.

Real medical advances, supported by scientific double-blind findings of efficacy and sometimes licensed in other advanced countries, can linger in the "unuseable status" for a decade or more, until FDA bureaucrats get off their fundaments. Meanwhile, this herbal supplement junk, can be sold freely. It makes absolutely no sense.

Thank God for those loopholes, from the bottom of my heart.

And thank God for PubMed and other sources that allow a well informed consumer to read and evaluate real medical studies and clinical trials on both herbal and pharmaceutical (and psuedo-pharmaceutical) substances done in the US and especially other countries and decide for themselves. Thank God my wife isn't on Lexapro, Welbutrin or Xanax anymore. Thank God she doesn't need sleeping pills messing with her hormones anymore. Thank God I've shed another 5% bodyfat while adding almost 6 lbs. of muscle. Thank God I'll never need Viagra. Thank God I lost my middle-aged beer gut and man-boobs. Thank God for 'herbal supplement junk'.

(And damn the government that forces manufacturers to put Guaifenesin in my Epehdra just to prevent some crackhead from using it to cook his meth. How's about you focus on busting the crackheads and let me have my ephedra unadulterated? Bastages.)
