But the perfect season, however alluring, has never been the objective.

You are right ... that it wasn't the objective but as the season came to an
end ... the last 4 games or so ... you don't think the possibility of going
undefeated began to come to their minds more that once?
I am quite sure they had to fight to keep focus in those last weeks and
the possibility of doing something no other team had done was NOT
something they easily dismissed.
I believe there was pressure ..... and it got more intense the closer they got.
But why is the pressure off? They haven't finished. 19-0 is the goal now.
But they can now focus on 3-0 in the playoffs which WAS one of their
original goals. So in a way they have put that undefeated pressure behind
them and are now back to realizing one of their original goals
... one game at a time.
I can't even really explain it, but even as a fan, I was feeling it and then after the Giants game, I felt elated and relieved. I didn't really expect that. I can't even imagine what the team was feeling. It had to be a real emotional high.
