To be called "the Governor", sounds a bit like colonial times..

Perhaps it is a continual reminder of Romneycare...

Without regard interesting comments from Romney's crew, wonder how his week long vacation is going along the shores of Lake Winnepasaukee.. the tradition is that they all dress alike and pose for holiday pictures.. sounds a bit like a socialist function to this casual viewer.

Romney's position appears to side with the dissent on the Obamacare ruling in that as that it is a penalty it is therefore unconstitutional. Easier to beat them up politically sticking with the fact that it's a tax though. Romney, however, may fear a backlash as I had previously posted that Massachusetts state spending on health & human services has increased 47% since Romneycare and the whole budget is up over 30%.

It's a tax, period. Why else is the IRS being used to enforce it?

If Romney didn't say it was a penalty when he pushed to impose his awful policy back then, I'm sure he'd be saying it's a tax now.

This ruling should scare the poop out of everybody. The government now has free reign to order you, via taxation, to do whatever it is their corrupt hearts desire. Good times I say.

You're telling me the government has the power to do...what it's always had the power to do?

    Earth shattering, I say!

RW is pointing out that the Dems lied about what they were doing, when they claimed it wasn't a tax, repeatedly.

The advisor is right: it's not a tax, it's an unconstitutional mandate. However the supporters of this bill have to call it a tax to keep it alive.

I'm proud of you, ma'am, for making this post and moving yourself closer to seeing the light.

Jack, I honestly can't wait till a group gains power, and passes a "mandate" that you don't like. Just remember I told you so.

No, that's not what I'm saying. My point is simply that the government now has the legal authority to mandate anything it wants to, and penalize you financially should you refuse to comply.

What's to stop the government from mandating that you donate blood or pay a penalty? How about that you buy a weapon or pay a penalty? I personally don't think anything can be considered implausible moving forward.
