She made the right decision ... music will honor him enough. A debate on his life would have ensued ... not a good thing for the family at this time.

I doubt it was his family that she was concerned about...more like her fellow politicians and the problems in the 2010 election it would have caused a great many of them.

On the contrary, I thought it would a great political move for the Democrats to let the Republican Party officially call out Mr. Jackson as a sick pedophile, a child molester, a despicable pervert and a low-life scumbag. :)

I applaud her, even if her reason for scuttling it, wasn't what I was hoping for. It should never have been brought to the floor, cuz the country is in shambles right now, and running a $1 trillion for this year. Wasting taxpayer money and time on Michael Jackson would have been totally unacceptable. Regardless, she stopped it, and for that, I applaud her.

That wasn't done on the floor of the House though...he did it elsewhere.

I think it would be a good idea for Pelosi to allow the Republican Party to publicly proclaim in the floor of the US House of Representative that Mr. Jackson is a sick pedophile, a child molester, a despicable pervert, and a low-life scumbag. :)

And when the Democrats come to his "defense" they will have problems of their own- which is why she killed the resolution.

If it would allow them to make fools of themselves without doing harm to them she'd be on on it in a minute but even she isn't stupid enough to get involved in the Michael Jackson quagmire

Sheila Jackson wasn't thinking about Michael Jackson, Sheila Jackson is one of Washingtons biggest RACISTS, if she was White she would be living with David Duke.

    SHEILA JACKSON WAS "BUSTING BALLS"

Pelsosi is a scumbag politician all she was thinking about was "backlash"

Have they planted him yet? The tabloids have made sure I know that its illegal for him to be buried in Neverland, but I bet its ok to stuff him and mount him in the main foyer of the big building.

One can only imagine the raging debate in her head: "should I honor a NAMBLA poster child or not???" "Should I honor a freak who needed 10 sleeping pills a night, or not???" "Should I honor a guy who lives alone, who cannot keep a family together, who rejects his own brothers and sisters who come to help him out of his drug-addled state, or not???!!!" "Hmmm.... Hmmmmmm....... What should I do??? What should I do????"

"Oh, that's right ..... he's BLACK!!! (That makes it easy!!)"

"We have decided it's not appropriate to award this person merely on the grounds of his musical activities. Thank you for understanding." -- Nancy Pelosi
