Paul J. Wiedorfer, WWII Medal of Honor recipient, dies at 89 - The Washington Post

    Passed away Memorial Day weekend.

His Medal of Honor Citation. He was wounded a couple of months later by a mortar shell that killed the man next to him. He was awarded his medal while in the Hospital recovering from his wounds.

    #95 Jersey

    From the article,
    >>>>
As he aged, Mr. Wiedorfer said he prayed for the day there would be no living recipients of the Medal of Honor.
“Because,” he once said, “it will mean that we have learned to live in peace.”<<<<<
