Six plays received nominations, but two of them stood head and shoulders above the rest, so I'm only going to put those two up for a vote.

First, the Honorable Mentions (in the order nominated):

  • Terrence Wheatley's pass breakup v. Indianapolis
  • Brandon Meriweather's INT v. San Francisco
  • Deltha O'Neal's pass defense to clinch the KC game
  • Mayo's goalline stop of Thomas Jones (v. NYJ)

And now, the two fairly obvious nominees:
  • Adalius Thomas' epic sack of Brett Favre and Leon Washington
  • Brandon Meriweather's game-winning/season-saving strip sack of Seneca Wallace

The poll will be open for two days.

Tough choice. I enjoyed watching Adalius's sack most of all, but the Meriweather strip sack ended the game. So, I voted for Brandon.

"The Domination of Favre" written by Adalius Thomas.

Last chance to vote!

Adalius's cool double prizes.

Very tough call... they both had large implications on big wins. I took AD just because it was more impressive than Meriweather's, who came in on the QB unblocked.

Merriweathers play was incredibly well timed and rather clutch, plus it ended the game, so it got my vote. But the AT play was pretty damn ridiculous, I had to watch it a few times on replay to realize I in fact was not hallucinating and yes AT had just dominated not one but two Jets. Merriweather was the best, but AT was definitely the most exciting!

The AT play taking Favre down was most satisfying to watch.

But if you look at the strip sack by Meriweather in the Seattle game, not only did it lock up the win, but Deion Branch had gotten by O'Neal and was wide open - a very probable TD if Wallace had an extra second or two to complete that pass.

That's the difference between a win and a loss/no chance for the playoffs. So I think its a given that Meriweather gets the nod here.
