Our first FA acquisition of the year?!

Our first FA acquisition of the year?!

Technically, that's right. :(

Re: Pats visit with Marques Murrell - LB formerly with the Jets [Update: Kraft: Agree

Any chance he's a team captain when we play them? ;)

Re: Pats visit with Marques Murrell - LB formerly with the Jets [Update: Kraft: Agree

Another Jets JAG

Re: Pats visit with Marques Murrell - LB formerly with the Jets...

That would be Neal or Bodden..

He said "acquisition," meaning to acquire or gain. You are thinking of "retaining."

That being said, Murrell is the first acquisition.

Yeah, like those bums Otis Smith, Bobby Hamilton and Anthony Pleasant. Kyle Brady wasn't great (he was mediocre) and Baker was a disappointment, but the Pats have had plenty of Jets cast offs play well in New England :bricks:

You never know. He seems to be a top ST contributer. Provides competition at TC and possibly depth at ILB. Nice under the radar signing.

Bryan Cox, Ray Mickens, Rick Lyle, Victor Hobson, Victor Green, Chris Hayes...

What he said..... ditto.

Let's just call it a signing, we don't know the terms or if he'll even make the team.

Can we now finally say goodbye to Alexander?

Re: Pats visit with Marques Murrell - LB formerly with the Jets [Update: Kraft: Agree

I don't understand the point here....Hayes was good on special teams for a couple years (that's what he was brought in to do), Cox had a solid year in 2001, Lyle was an adequate backup DL for a few years (which again, was what he was signed to be). Hobson was a dud, Mickens was washed up by the time he arrived in New England and Green was adequate although not as good as we had hoped.

Lets face it he's been signed to give us inside info on the Rex Ryan system.

Actually no.. Retaining would be Wilfork.. We are retaining his service before he hits free agency.. Since Bodden was a FA, we acquired his services.. Or gain his services back..

Ugh..

If we do, it would be four years too late IMO.

What's with the pats looking at Jet rejects named Marques?

Why do you say that? Because he wasn't a full-time starter or perennial Pro Bowler? Last time I checked, there's three facets to football. Offense, Defense, and SPECIAL TEAMS. Alexander was a fine player at as for the latter.

God damn...

Alexander was fine at what he did. I know we all remember him for epic-failing at covering Dallas Clark, but that wasn't really what he was supposed to be doing in the first place. Might as well be mad at Troy Brown for not being a good cornerback.
