So that's two released in the last few days with no signings. . . . weird.

Well, cut-downs to 75 is coming up in 8 days. Not sure if there's a lot of value in adding players 89 & 90 at this point in camp; they're not going to make the team, and likely won't be practice squad guys either. It's tough to organize and keep track of 90 guys.

Clearly Derby is ahead of him. I assume hes a head of Harbor as well.

Seems like it'll be Gronk, Marty, Derby and Develin (FB/H-Back/TE) as the TEs

I'm assuming that if there are no injuries at the TE position, despite getting a $400k bonus, Harbor will be released at the conclusion of camp.

Particularly with the way the Patriots have been trending with their TEs, Is there anyone in New England who didn't see this coming?

I would expect the team to be active at the end of the month. They always are.

Unless you add 26 and 38, which you cannot necessarily tell until you have a look. It is even possible to trade for a solid RB or RT who would be an upgrade. Daylight's waistin' Hooper!

Does Bear's mother live in New England? Maybe her.

Well he never had a shot to make the team with Jones, Robert. and Leblanc.

I hope they sign another OT and RB with the open spots.

I was rooting for the kid and hope he lands on his feet. A shame but 100% expected.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced that they have released veteran TE Bear Pascoe, first-year S Cedric Thompson and rookie free agent DB V'Angelo Bentley.

He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (184th overall) by San Francisco out of Fresno State in 2009. After being released by the 49ers at the end of training camp, Pascoe was signed to the New York Giants practice squad before being signed to the 53-man roster for the final weeks of the season. He signed with Atlanta as an unrestricted free agent in 2014 and with Chicago as an unrestricted free agent in 2015. Pascoe was released by Chicago at the end of training camp and signed with Detroit for the final weeks of the season. He has played in 85 regular-season games with 34 starts and totaled 40 receptions for 336 yards and two touchdowns. He has also appeared in four postseason games as a reserve and posted five receptions for 39 yards and one touchdown.

Thompson, 23, was signed by New England to the practice squad on Jan. 12, 2016, for the postseason. He was released by Miami at the end of training camp and spent the regular season on the Miami practice squad.

Bentley, 22, was signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Illinois on May 6, 2015. The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder, played in 46 games with 32 starts and registered 132 total tackles, one sack, two interceptions and 11 passes defensed.
