Okay, here's the idea: rather than yet another 'Cassel sucks, sign Flutie' thread I want to hear realistic constructive criticism or a proposed solution. Not really interested in hearing how the Pats will be 15-1 or 2-12.

For example, rather than 'Cut Cassel' or 'Trade Moss for Garcia', something like 'trade a 4th that can go up to a 2nd depending on how we do for Garcia because our history for 3rd round picks is X and it would be worth it since Garcia is only making $Y'.

How is this different from the numerous threads demanding BB sign QBs who are sitting at home on the couch or trade for bench polishers on other teams?

Cassel is the QB, I just don't see what better option is out there.

I find it funny that people seemed to like Cassel after he helped the team beat the Jets. Now he helped the team, YES THE TEAM, lose a game against the Phins. Was everybody paying any attention to Bradys performances when he first became a starter? He wasnt throwing 60 yrd bombs. He wasnt completing every pass. People just need to relax, and see how the TEAM does in two weeks. Miami is not the crappy team they were last year. The Pats are not the same team as last year. This is this year, and the Pats obviously didnt play a good game yesterday. Thats probably going to happen again this year. People need to chill out.

I want to hear an explanation from the 'trade for X', 'sign Y' and 'bench Z' crowd how their replacement will improve the team both short and long term, given budget, cap, and playbook-learning curve implications.

Or is that too difficult a task for the negative nancy's who can't handle one loss?

I'd have to say affirmative, but then I have the utmost faith in their football acumen. :D

Matt Cassel has 2 more weeks, to get on page with his recievers and a command of the offense.. He is not going to be a pro bowler, but all we need him is to manage the offense.. But when we get in a hole like we did yesterday, its just hard right now for that guy to come back.

Trade a 2nd for Garcia or sign Culpepper as a free agent. Cut Eckel and keep four QB's until the new QB is ready and then cut Cassel or trade him for a sixpack.

Right Mark, we have established that you consider Garcia, injured ankle, bad attitude, and West Coast dink and dunk offense guru worth a 2nd round pick. And that you prefer the Statue of Fumbles over a less proven player chosen by BB. Where we're confused is the exact number of teams these guys have been on or tried out for individually the past three seasons and which stellar performers on those teams may have won jobs ahead of them... Help us out with some hard numbers and specific names of QBs they've beaten out for a starting job. Enquiring minds want to know.

Garcia?? Hell no!!! We don't need a QB who pays a playmate to stand next to him so he doesn't look gay!

When the Defense yield over 200 yards rushing and 300 yard passing on the way to five marches for TDs, it doesn't matter who the QB is!!

Our defense can and will be corrected, unfortunately our QB cannot. Bring in Garcia and salvage what looks to be a very weak lean AFC at the moment.

Great. Piss away an important (2nd round pick) tool to maintain competitiveness and get younger and faster in order to bring in a guy who

    1. Cannot stay healthy (Garcia)
    2. Is a one year blowout patch (both)
    3. Can't get a job (Culp)
    4. Cannot read Ds (Culp)
    5. Is anathema to BB's style and QB criteria (Culp)
    6. Will take practice snaps AWAY from our present starter likely causing us to lose even MORE games as he learns the O.

Apparently BB's comments that a vet would still require a summer camp to learn the O mean nothing to folks. BB also said that a vet would need the O slimmed down by 80%. Again, what does BB know, the fool?

I'm not claiming that Cassie is gonna get us into the playoffs but post summer camp there are no better options.
