Pats looking at Randy Moss?

yeaaaaaa RANDY. SHOW EM WHOS BOSS.
one ancillary benefit of this whole thing is how damn foolish Felger will look if he long-predicted trade to GB does not go down. :D

just because they are deep threats doesnt mean they cant do anything else..steve smith is a deep threat but he also gets a lot of short passes..mid..everything

Randay Moss is mostly a deep threat guy. Having both those guys out there does take away a lot of options. You are better off matching a deep guy with a possession guy (especially in our offense) which neither of those guys are.

who knows what Skipper McDaniels and BB are thinking..maybe a new offense..maybe they see something some of you dont..who knows

Wow Schefter just said again that Moss is adamant that he will NOT restructure his contract to play for any team but the Patriots. WOW!!

It sounds like Moss is trying to become a Patriot, but the Patriots may not be as interested in him. If the other report is true that the Raiders have been calling the Pats and not the other way around, the Pats may only be interested if they can get him for nothing.

Patriots dont wanna give up too much..we offered a day 2 pick..who knows what Al Davis wants.

Umm, what are Welker & Watson, if not "possession guys"? Two WR who CAN beat any NFL CB deep in 1-on-1 coverage means the Pats see more zone - deep safety-support zones, specifically. That takes a S out of "the box" and run support. It moves another S into possible 1-on-1 coverage with Watson, running on the seam. Deep speed, and a guy who can actually catch the deep ball - which Moss & Stallworth can do - opens up the middle of the field, provides Brady with more space to "lead" pass catchers.

You really can never have too much speed at WR - so long as the guy can catch 97% of passes he gets his hands on AND you get him to run hard on a few slant routes on blitzes. It's the second aspect that I have no confidence Moss can do (i.e. go over the middle, even as a decoy, and take the hits) but Stallworth might. One has to, though, or the O has severely limited their options (see Moss's late years in MIN).
