Pats/Jets Difference in a Nutshell

The Pats are 12-3 and have home field advantage for the playoffs.

The Jets are 3-12 and looking at yet another organizational rebuild.

That's it in a nutshell.

... and to the OP's orignal point, even if they were 12-3 and lost a game, I can't imagine ANY Patriot player chortling about what a dominant game they had in a loss

Without question they'd shrug off any dominant performance and would offer to trade the stats for a win

The Jets clearly think they're the best 3-12 team in the NFL (that's a title they are welcome to)

Classic Jet cannot stop talking trash even when he just lost a game.

When they reviewed the Gray TD run, and Rex got all pissed off, I said to my son, the thing about Rex is that he is probably more pissed that he doesn't get a chance to try to make a call that could stop a 3rd and goal from 2 inches to act like a tough guy if he stopped it, than the fact he is losing the game.
Just like his comments after about being the team that gives Brady the most trouble whether he wants to admit it or not.
Well he has lost 7 of 8 to Brady, beaten him just once in 4 years.
The Patriots have averaged 28.5 points per game.
The Jets have not been to the playoffs or even had a winning season in those 4 years.
The Patriots have wont he division all 4.
The Jets are 25-38, the Patriots are 49-14.
And this buffoon gets up and brags like he gives Brady a tough time, and Brady is ashamed to admit it.
What a loser. And that is what Rex Ryan is ultimately, a loser.

Edelman and Connolly play in this game and the Pats win by 10-14.

Technically they could of won by 8, and with those 3 I bet at least another td onto that.

Yes, it was a one point win only because the Pats either decided not to run it up a little on the Jets, or more likely, decided not to risk any further hits to Brady or a fumble. If there were five minutes left in the game when Bolden got that first down, we would have had at least three more points, if not 7 more. He can have his "feast" if it means a famine on wins.

Actually I think Rex himself pointed to the biggest difference between the Pats and the Jets in his post game comments. Rex indicated that the Pats are a "tough team to beat". Which they are, both Jet games, the Jets pretty much played the way they wanted to play, only had one turnover, picked off Brady, controlled the ball, kept the game low scoring and close. And Both times, the Pats came up the big play at the right time, and won the game.

The Pats rarely beat themselves, and you have to play a very good game to beat them. the Pats clearly didn't play at their best for either Jet game, yet, they won both of them.

Classic point: 7:18 left, the Pats leading 17-16, the Jets picked off Brady at the 31 yard line. Jets do two runs plays, bring the ball to the 24 yard line. Because the Jet KNOW that a field goal is not gong to beat the Pats here, they pass on third down, Hightower blitzes up the gut, sacks Geno for a ten yard loss turning a 42 yard field goal attempt into a 52 yard one. Then the Pats shift in FG formation, Jets call TO #1. Vince gets his fingers on the FG and its short. Pats take over at their won 42 with 5:16 left. Two first downs and a failed challenge later, Brady is taking a knee and the game is over.

The Pats didn't exact play a great game yesterday, BUT after the Brady INT, they made every single play they needed to make from that point forward to win the game.

Yup, Rex your right, the Pats are a tough team to beat!!!
