The Patriots opening game of the playoffs will be Saturday, Jan. 12, at 8 p.m., the NFL announced today.

Here is the complete playoff schedule through the first two rounds:

Saturday, Jan. 5
Washington at Seattle (NBC, 4:30 p.m.)
Jacksonville at Pittsburgh (NBC, 8 p.m.)

Sunday, Jan. 6
N.Y. Giants at Tampa Bay (Fox, 1 p.m.)
Cleveland/Tennessee at San Diego (CBS, 4:30 p.m.)

Saturday, Jan. 12
Seattle/Tampa Bay/N.Y. Giants at Green Bay (Fox, 4:30 p.m.)
Pittsburgh/Jacksonville/Cleveland/Tennessee at New England (CBS, 8 p.m.)

Sunday, Jan. 13
San Diego/Pittsburgh/Jacksonville at Indianapolis (CBS, 1 p.m.)
Tampa Bay/N.Y. Giants/Washington at Dallas (Fox, 4:30 p.m.)

The AFC Championship game is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 20 at 3 p.m., while the NFC Championship game is the same day, at 6:30 p.m.

That was pretty much a given since the Pats are prime time players.. I do think you will see Tenn vs Pats that night..

the nfl reseeds so if tenn defeats san diego then they go to NE

#6 seed Pittsburgh Steelers upset the Bengals and played the #1 Colts in the divisional round

it will be the lowest seed remaining, which is Ten/Cle if they beat SD. If SD wins, it's Pit/Jax. Personally, I think Pit comes in Saturday night (for as well as the Jags played the Steelers a few weeks ago, it took less than a quarter for the Steelers to tie it back up, and I still think Jax isn't battle tested enough to win in Heinz in January in the playoffs (as evidenced by their bed wetting efforts against Indy this year)

I think it's a bad policy for the NFL to lock the divisional round games in from now. Image now mad we would have been last year if we played on Sunday and KC, I know this is fantasy, beat Indy. Then we had to travel to Baltimore on 6 days rest.

It's really not fair to Tenn\Clev to travel to SD then on a short week come to NE.

i pretty much have to go b/c my boss agreed to cover for me.

that sucks. I want to be 100% focused on this game.

Everyone who says they do NOT reseed is right, but it does not mean what you think.

The seeds (1 through 6) do NOT change once they are set.

But the MATCHUPS in the bracket DO change.

We will face the lowest rated seed, whether that is #4 PIT, #5 JAX, or #6 CLE/TEN. It doesn't matter how the brackets look right now
