Has anyone observed how similar these two seasons are for these two teams except the roles are reversed ?
Pats are the favorites of everyone and talk of the town whereas colts are under the radar so to speak. In 2004 it was all about indy and peyton's 49 TD's when we were the defending champs. We had a ton of injuries and yet kept winning and this yr indy has the same .
I know a lot of people will disagree just because we are talking colts but its erriely similar.
I hope the end result is different.

The thing about eire similarities is that you can find them to both support and refute any point.
Fact is that Colt team had never won a big game, and that QB that was all over the news choked again. Eerie difference: we have a QB who has never choked.
Additionally, that Colt team didnt play defense, we do.

Football games aren't decided by what the media likes to talk about. In fact, they are decided by the things the media ignores.
The real facts that matter are unlike the 2004 Colts, this Patriot team is better equipped to win without throwing the ball well, playing a running game or a defensive battle than they were in prior SB years.

To me, that is what is lost in the media. Everything OTHER than the passing game is as good as it has ever been on this team, and the incredible passing game is just a bonus NOT THE reason we are winning.

Colts have beaten the Patriots 3 straight times so end of story. Until they beat the Colts again nothing more really needs to be said.

Right now the Cowboys shouldn't be overlooked.

I noticed it about week two, when NE was giddy with the gaudy numbers, and Peyton was paltry in comparison.

NE is never giddy with numbers-they could care less.. fans and media maybe. unlike manning who went back the season after 49 TD passes and looked at film and said he missed a few more TDs. sorry i dont dislike manning as much as other people do but had to bring that fact out.

Uhhh, there has been nothing but threads, talk, and analysis here about Brady, the offense, the numbers, 16-0 since about week 2-3. You guys are absolutely giddy, it's all around you.

Peyton goes back over the previous season every off season. Not to see how many TD's he missed, but to critique his work, and to try and improve. So, every year, he probably knows in which games and in which circumstances he missed opportunities. Not opportunities to hit the record books, but opportunities to put points on the board. He missed Gonzo in the end zone last week, over threw him. IIRC, drive resulted in 3 instead of 6. He missed Harrison V. Denver the week prior, another overthrow in the end zone. Not sure if that resulted in a FG or not, they only had 1 FG that game. Point is that you can bet he'll review those next off season, and if the subject comes up, he might allude to what he "missed", but it's missed in terms of points, not stats.

With Gonzo this preseason, Manning went through every pass play to Stokely from the previous season, to show him what an effective slot guy can do (and to show him all the playes designed for the slot)

The problem is many of you here are not very good communicators. You read a line or two, and try to extrapolate a meaning, or put words into others mouths. It's amazing how twisted a posters intent can get once some of you get your hands on it.

Manning ABSOLUTELY came out and said that after reviewing the tapes he could have thrown even more. That was NOT a 'Im going to get better comment'. That was a self-promoting comment all the way. Remember, this also came from a guy who has habitually being called a choker at the time.

Hey, it is what it is. Why is it so hard for you to admit that Manning was consumed by that record, as evidenced by all the 1 yard TD passes?
Hey, he ultimately got his SB win. That doesn't rewrite history though.

He may have said it, but I think you are taking it out of context. Not sure HOW MANY 1 yarders he had that year, but IIRC, Brady is pretty adept inside 5 yards as well. AND, if you remember correctly, Colts MANY times, have had problems "punching it in" on goal line situations. To this day I feel like much of their practice should be dedicated to red zone, and goal line type situations on offense. Hell, it was you guys that stopped us on the goal line in '03 you ding dong. Heck, how many times have we seen Edge fumble down there? Too damn many. He did it AGAIN this past week.
Where CAN I find that info? What about Brady's? (Goal line pass td's???)

Please read what i wrote - NE is never giddy with numbers-they could care less.. fans and media maybe.
Which means the team isnt consumed by numbers -fans and media are.
So all your mention about threads about brady's numbers and 16-0 is covered by "fans and media". So i think its you who are reading 2 lines and extrapolating a meaning.

Go to any other team's board and look for the trolls as they try to carry on a civil conversation only to be beat down by the majority of homers that stick to their team's message board. What do you expect? On the other hand, you come here and try to pollute our teams accomplishments so far with weak arguments. All anyone has to do is read your post' history, here and at the Dim Star, to realize what a hypocritical weasel you are!! No one gives a crap about a rating system that places Brady at #6, and although you and most Colts fans want to see it this way, this year's Pats team does not really give a ***** about stats. Honestly, their real mission is to get better each week, win the game against the Colts and win the Super Bowl. Anything short of that is a huge failure!

In 2004, of his 49 TD's, 7 were from the 1-3 yard line. Of those 7, 3 were on third down. 2 were on second down. Only 1 was in the 4th quarter, another in the third quarter. NONE HAPPENED in the second half with the Colts leading by more than 8 points. So, it appears as though, situationally speaking, a TD was pretty important. In the final analysis, WTF cares how they score, just so long as they do.

So, "consumed by that record, as evidenced by ALL THE 1 yard TD passes"

**2 were in December, 1 in week 14, and one in week 16 (V.Chargers, OT win, went to 12-3, Pats were 13-2)

Brady was only ranked 6th for this most recent week. I have said that many times already. Not my fault you refuse to listen. Brady is currently second for the year. It is football outsiders DVOA system, where they try to assess each players value a little more in depth than strictly TD passes, yards, and comp. %. That's all. If you take a closer look at it, team wise, for TOTAL DVOA, Pats are 1st. Second in Offense(Colts are first), 3rd in Defense(Colts are not in top 5)

No one here has EVER referenced this site??
