Pats/Chargers draft pick tracker

As you probably know, the Chargers gave up their second-round draft pick in 2009 so they could draft Jacob Hester (whose only contribution in the SD game was to cough up a fumble :D).

Well, after seven weeks, the standings look like this (ranked by SOS in each group):

No wins: DET, CIN
1 win: KC, SEA
2 wins: SF, MIA, OAK, STL, CLE
3 wins: HOU, SD, NO, MIN

So, currently, the Chargers have the #11 pick in the first round. Because of the way the draft works, that gives the Pats the #42 pick overall in 2009, plus a fifth-rounder in 2008, for the #69 pick overall.

Week 8 Update:

The Patriots' win over the Rams moved their first-round pick to #27 overall.

Thanks to the Chargers' loss to the Saints, they are currently the only 3-5 team in the NFL, which gives them the #8 pick in every round. Thus the Pats currently own the #40 pick overall.

gonna be sweet when they trade that 2nd for Ocho cinco.

Pats need a pass rushing OLB badly.

I hope they trade up with that pick and combine it with their 1st rounder, and move into the top 15 for an Orakpo/Selvie type.
