Pats 5 - 1 with "adequate" QB play

Brady is easily performing as a top 3 QB this season, saying he's "adequate" is ridiculous.

LOL DAMN!!!!!!!

Brady is adjusting to the new players on offense.

People tend to forget brady and welker are the ONLY veteran established players on offense. I have a feeling once Hernandez stops dropping balls, brady will target him more often. tHERE HAS ALSO BEEN A LOT OF HUGE DROPS THIS SEASON.

And Sam Bradford is a rookie who lost his top 2 targets to injury, who did better against that defense the week before. Maybe O'Brien needs to be better, maybe Brady can be better, maybe the OL can be better, maybe the receivers can be better, maybe they all can do better.

By what measurements? His completion % is good but is YPA is pretty damn low.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Tom Brady

For the record lee evens is better than all the patriots receivers.

OH, and i think brady exposed something in the ravens defense and ryan was benefiting from it.

Brady's not playing his best. That's undeniable. But this stat just proves Fitzpatrick is having a fantastic season. Props to him. Brady is behind him in rating, as are many other big name quarterbacks. If you guys are that much down on Brady you should be happy that stiff Drew Brees isn't quarterbacking your team, huh? Boy, that guy sure sucks, just look at his rating 6 weeks into the season!

To further illustrate the point: Peyton Manning 6 games into his 2008 MVP season:

224 Attempts, 136 Completions for 1531 yards, 8 Touchdowns and 7 Interceptions for a Quarterback Rating of 80.04. And a shiny 3-3 record.

If Brady had that production I guess people would be running him out of town. Even the greatest Quarterbacks have stretches in which their play isn't so tight. We should just be glad that Brady's rough stretches are usually not as bad as other elite players' are.

The defense has nothing to do with Moss. Some young guys have improved and taken over bigger roles (Cunningham, Deaderick). The coaching has been very good and they've found a very good run-stopping lineup with Wilfork at DE.

The offense has been pretty mediocre though and it hurts just a little watching Percy Harvin have so much space underneath. Then again both the Ravens and Chargers have VERY good defenses.

Yea anyone saying welker isn't feeling moss' absence is crazy. I think moss helps us in this game if he were here namely in the RZ and our underneath routes were all but shut down for 3 quarters of this game.

And we are 5-1... none of these statistics matter if you are not winning.. over time have seen some gaudy numbers by QB's on shytty teams...

But you can't blame them being 0-6 on fitzpatrick. Just like you can't give Brady all the credit for us being 5-1. The D/ST has been the catalyst for our last 3 victories.

I don't think anyone would dispute that.

Brady led the comeback against a Ravens team down ten points in the Fourth.

And what was the D doing when TB was going 3 and out for most of that game?

The reason he was even in striking distance is a credit to our young D stepping up against a good veteran offense. Lest you forget the pivotal stops in OT as well.

Since when does every Quarterback play like Ryan Fitspatrick against that Raven defense?

I never said that. I simply said the D/ST was the catalyst for that victory.

Ray Rice 3ypc, Big stops in OT, Zoltan 65 yard punt in the clutch.

And the D forced 5 straight punts allowing 0 points during that comeback. Brady threw an INT in the 3rd that gave the Ravens the ball at our 36 leading to one of the Ravens 2 TDs. He failed to get into the endzone from the Ravens 13 to take the lead (rather than the tie to go to OT). With 45 seconds left and the ball at midfield, he failed to get them in FG range. His first 2 drives in OT resulted in 3 and out.

Now all of that is not entirely Brady's fault but let's not pretend that he threw the team on his back and LED a comeback against Baltimore. The defense had a LOT to do with giving the offense the multiple chances it took to come back and win.

Well, but he did lead them. I mean, otherwise you can only credit a QB for a comeback win when his team outscores the opponent in a 62-59 shootout victory. Every comeback derives from the defense giving the offense opportunities to win the game. Granted, the defense had to give'em a lot of chances after the game was tied for the offense to finally put it away, but they still had to come back from a 10 point deficit in the fourth quarter.

He has 11 touchdowns to only 4 interceptions, sure the pick hurt but it didn't cost them in a final result. Branch mentioned how he was the reason they failed to put it in their endzone by misreading an audible. Brady was sacked by Nagta, who basically had a free release when they were at midfield which stalled the drive. Nitpicking at it's finest.
