I really don't like the idea that visiting teams can be staying at a 4 star hotel right next to the field.

With the Patriots owning it, it can conveniently be booked up each time an opposing team is in town. Besides, the Patriots will probably be staying there as they stay in a hotel during game weekends. Currently, they stay at the Sheraton Four Points in Norwood on game weekends.

Road improvements are mentioned and being paid for by the developers (Kraft). I am prety confident things will not get any worse and may actually improve.

I look forward to the phase when they offer condo's for sale - count me in.

Imagine living there and how awesome game days would be.....hmmm, sleep till noon, roll out of bed and be in my seats for kick off!!

    I miss P9.

Still, it makes sense to do what they are doing. Hope the traffic improvements help.

I was really pleased on how the parking and enviorment improved over the last stadium. Last yr was rough parking, if your not there early enough your parking in p-10 which sucks.. Im glad there improving the area, but the parking thing has suffered..

I like how the area is now, like it's in the middle of nowhere.

For those of you who go to the South Shore Plaza, imagine that atmosphere around Gillette.

I am not so sure this place is going to take off. Foxboro is not a central, convenient location. Sure, it's great to go to a couple times a year for a ball game, but I doubt many people will want to do their routine shopping there...

It's not that far away from the Wrentham Outlets and the Emerald Square Mall, which both make pretty good business.

Funny that Cory Dillon is one of the first images you see in the video. Is someione trying to tell us somthin?? Someone tell Mike Reiss to check the locker room and see if his nameplate is up!

Trying to capitalize on the patriots popularity year round only make business $ense for the Krafts. And if they can convive 5% of the tailgating crowd to bring it inside to the bars that has to be good for the bottom line.

    1) Outlets are a different story. People will travel hours to go to outlets, as demonstrated by all the Bostonians in Kittery, ME. But Patriot Place is going to be retail.

    2) Emerald Square is right near Rhode Island's population center. Foxboro is in no man's land.

I doubt there will be too much gameday impact other than some changes to parking. People aren't going to fight gameday traffic to shop.

What this is about is the other 350+ days a year when there is no game.

It makes sense that the traffic and business challenges are all about non-game dates. If anything, I'd expect the gameday traffic snarl to be improved if there is somewhere to go that encourages a come early and/or stay late plan. Plus every full hotel room=one less car.

I'm curious about the effect on training camp, too. (That represents most of my time in Foxboro!) More temptation to make a day of it if there are restaurants, etc. on site.
