Patriots release Albert Haynesworth

Yes. That's what we need. Another open roster spot.

I don't blame the Pats for this at all. In fact I love how they try to buy low on talent. Everyone knew this was a possibility when they made the move. Better to wipe your hands of it and move on now then let it undermine his authority.

How is an extremely low risk/ high reward potential an Epic Failure? Seriously?

Good thing you aren't Kraft because he understands things a lot better..

Sigh. When one player represents your entire effort to make the defense better in what was an abbreviated off-season and that player is a bust it's A MASSIVE, INDISPUTABLE FAILURE. What about that can't you understand?

ya, low risk for AH, but the defense needed a serious upgrade from last year and instead it's worse. Ocho cost us a couple of draft picks and 6 million bucks. Might be the only reason that he is still around.

This is not unexpected. Albert's tendency to exert aggression on the defensive front belies the principles of our defensive line, which is to maintain gap responsibility.

I think BB is trying to Suck for Luck. Wait... nvm.

I don't get it?

we could be going back to a 3-4 ever think about that guys?

If only BB had drafted Mt. Cody two years ago. We would have never had to waste oxygen on this guy.

Hopefully BB has walking papers drawn up for Ellis as well!

BB time to put down the viagra pills and start taking your prozac. Please!

We need you to be the mad genius again. Lose the squeeze and start focusing on your team again.

Your defense is the worst in the NFL and soon will set a record for giving up the most passing yards per game in a season in the history of the NFL.

Your offense is turning the ball over in large bunches. Does anybody in the offensive coaches meetings talk about ball security? Maybe they should wake up Hernandez when this speech is being given.

And to top it all off; you are soon headed to New York on a two game losing streak for your annual drubbing at the hands of Sexy Rexy!

Well, at least they didn't waste another draft pick on a failed trade.......

Sundays blow up the final straw? When he was in there he was good, again when he was in there. But that wasn't often.

Just wondering if your member name is a tease to an already existing Anal member here?

Brace did play last week although after reviewing the game he wasn't very effective (understandable) so maybe that has something to do with this.

I just hope it's performance-related and not a 'personality' cut which would be unfortunate. Watching the tape he is disruptive at times.

Seems like only yesterday that Whitlock reemed Fat Al and the Pats.....with the customary Pats Good, Whitlock bad reaction.

Delicious KoolAid

Agreed....

Yeah, all these successful 5th round picks we've had in the last 5 years.

Other than my boy, Slater, is there one still on the team?

Not that Haynesworth was anything special, IMHO, but it's disappointing that BB seems to be wasting Brady's peak years trying to set an NFL record for total number of defensive players released.

Cody 2 years ago with Dunlap then Phil Taylor & Prince Amukamara this year...look how much better the team would look with those 4 players instead of what they have now

Umm.. Love is not better than Haynesworth. Love was the one getting bulldozed all game long by Jacobs and the Giants RG..

How can you compare Deaderick to Haynesworth when Deaderick was lining up as a 4-3 DE? And Deaderick was worse than Anderson and Carter,

... and Haynesworth was barely good enough to sniff the field for 9 plays, including his last one where he got dominated for an easy touchdown. At least Love plays with intensity and heart, not like Haynesworth. He can care less whether he is on the bench or the field.

Addition through subtraction. Next!

When one player constitutes your entire effort to improve a defense in a abbreviated off-season it's epic when that player fails. Plus the salary for both which you seem to forget about. I doubt Mr. Kraft just walks to the nearest toilet and flushes millions of dollars down the bowl, but maybe I'm wrong.

You clearly are one of the bandwagon fans that Arrington was referring to. Haynesworth does not constitute the Pats entire effort to improve the defense. Clearly you weren't paying attention in the abbreviated off-season. See, the Pats also signed Mark Anderson, Shaun Ellis, and Andre Carter.

As for your analogy, I'm pretty sure that Kraft has made some bad investments from time to time. It happens in business.

No one has forgotten about the salary. Haynesworth's salary is 1.5 million. That is squat in this league.
