Besides Doug Flutie who everyone knows returned to the Patriots during his career, has there been more players who once played for the Patriots, left to play on another team(s) and returned later in his career?

    Otis Smith
Tebucky Jones (although injured in training camp last year and didn't play a down in his second stint)
Technically Troy Brown (cut by the Pats and then signed with the Jets, but was cut before the season started)

I hope Ty Law and Lawyer Milloy both retire as Patriots some day. I know it is not very likely, but I loved both of those guys back in the days. Even if it's a 1-day contract to retire.

Ken Walter holds the record, how many times has he been cut and just when we think he's out, they drag him back in ?

I fully believe that Ken has BB's mom tied up in his basement, it is the only logical explanation of his repeated re-appearances as the Patriots punter.

Russ "All World" Francis came back for a short time after playing for the 49ers.

Wish Ben Coates would had signed one of those one day contracts to retire as a Pat.

Think that Bledsoe should do the same. If he retired as a Pat, then all that Bills and Cowboys junk wouldn't mean anything. He was a Pat deep down. Sorry he couldn't win one with us.

Curtis Martin, no way. Jet lover!

Agree on Coates, but Bledsoe did ACTUALLY win one with us in 2001. He just wasn't the starter, only the first two games remember. Also, he helped beat the Steelers in the AFC championship game that year when Brady went down. We should actually thank Mo Lewis for that hit.

Bledsoe didn't BEAT the Steelers. He just happened to be lucky enough to be on the field to throw the one pass to David Patten. Bledsoe nearly cost us that game the way he cost us the the 1997 Divisional game against Pittsbrugh.

Had Lee Flowers and the other Steelers not purposely been going for Brady's knees, Brady probably would have played that entire game.

C'mon man, I didn't say he BEAT the Steelers, I said he HELPED beat the Steelers. And think about what you said about being LUCKY to be on the field to throw the one pass? I love Brady, but I give credit to Bledsoe for coming in rusty, not having played for a while and still concentrating and trying his best to help the TEAM win a big game. Of course he wasn't as good as Brady at the time, but he was still a TEAM player. I respect him for that and the entire year. Other QBs probably would have expressed their negative comments if a young QB took their place because of injury, but Bledsoe supported and mentored Brady the entire time as a Patriot.
