mcubed.net : NFL : All time streaks above .500

The Pats with this win have moved up the ladder as 6th best streak of consecutive seasons of better than .500 record as the streak moves to 12 years in a row now.

A winning record in 2013 gets them even higher up and into 5th best.....its quite an accomplishment and it all starts and ends with Belichick and Brady building the foundation for all the success.

As long as TFB and BB are in the game, they have a decent chance to get to #2. 20 years, however, would be very speculative. Much as I can't stand the Cowboys, what that team did over 20 years is simply incredible. Be that as it may, it was TOM LANDRY'S and TEX SCHRAMM'S Cowboys - - not Jerruh's - - who did that.

Extraordinary web site. I got lost surfing the streaks and match-ups in college basketball. UNC is still #1 with 27 consecutive years in the NCAA tournament, but Kansas could take that away in 2018.

That web site took a lot of work. Now we know what Jermaine Cunningham and Brandon Bolden have been up to while they waited for their Adderall to wear off after practice.

Thanks very much, not just for the stat but for the link to the site. This season actually moves them into sole posession of seventh place, but that's a trivial point.

You've found another measure of "Dynasty," IMO. That's pretty darn good company at the top of that list:

1 Dallas Cowboys 20 years - 1966..1985
2 San Francisco 49ers 16 years - 1983..1998
3 Miami Dolphins 15 years - 1989..2003
3 Oakland Raiders 15 years - 1966..1980
5 Green Bay Packers 13 years - 1992..2004
5 Pittsburgh Steelers 13 years - 1972..1984
7 New England Patriots 12 years 2001...2012 (my addition)
8 Miami Dolphins 11 years - 1977..1987 (edit)
8 Minnesota Vikings 11 years - 1968..1978 (edit)
8 New England Patriots 11 years - 2001..2011 (edit)

If not for 1988, the Dolphins would have a 27 year streak...woulda, coulda, shoulda of course, but still an impressive quarter century!

The criteria for that list is .500 or better, not above .500.
