Patriots LB Mayo Goes Down With Knee Injury in the 2nd Quarter
By: Ian Logue

After losing defensive lineman Kyle Love in the first quarter, the Patriots suffered another tough blow on the defensive side of the ball in the second....

Hopefully it ain't a biggy but it looks middling to bad.

&*^% it. anyway.

Looks pretty bad if he couldn't put any weight on it

Usually when you cant even walk to your own locker room..you are in trouble

I guess that's why he took the cart to the locker room.

Maybe he was just feeling lazy?

Seriously, this really sucks. Feels like that Steelers game in 2005 when the Pats won but they had some costly injuries that hurt them later in the season. Actually the SD game this year felt like that too.

Thoughts and prayers are going out to Mayo. Let's hope it's not too serious and he doesn't miss too much time.

We can't afford to lose this guy.

I hope he recovers quickly and is not seriously injured.

But I don't think our defense even skipped a beat when he wasn't in there.

Hopefully since all of the beat writers who cover the Pats relish the act of breaking bad news we'll know something within 48 hours.

Right now..i just hope he's back by the playoffs if the pats are there

Aside from maybe Wilfork, he was the one player on this D that the Pats could not afford to lose. This will be a big loss if he is out for an extended period of time. Injuries are the great equalizer in football.

No disrespect to Mayo, but what difference will it make really? We are bottom in a lot of categories on D with him. Can we drop any lower?
How is Woodhead I ask? More worried about Offensive players.

I honestly love Mayo and hope he comes back soon, but the team didn't look that much worse with Guyton in there. Only because Mayo is not having the season he had last year,

100% wrong.

With Woodhead, we have Ridley and Vereen waiting in the wings......not to mention Kevin Faulk after Week 6.

We have no one to replace what Mayo does.
