First off, I have a confession.
I live in the heart of Raider Nation: San Jose (CA)
(Wife's medical condition).
True, I am surrounded by evil heathens but my heart
is always with our team in New England.
Today at the Library, I was shocked to see a copy of
the book Patriot Reign, so I immeadeately brought it
home and read it cover to cover.
Honestly, I felt the writing was below average and
somewhat biased, but the story was priceless.
This is a book which will convince you to drink ALL
the KOOLAID and beg for more. It is a book of the
history of our franchise's rise to the top. Really the book
made it clear to me that this was an effort of many
contributors. I walked away from the book with new
respect for the Krafts, Mangini, Crennel, Weis and of
course Belichik and Pioli. It took the synergy of these
men as well as contibutions from Parcells and Carroll
to set our Dynasty into being. Really the book makes
it vividly clear that this team put into place something
beautiful and special.
So if you haven't read it, get a copy. You may open your eyes
to a new level of appreciation for your team and the Men
behind it.

It really is a fantastic book. I've always been a big fan of Michael Holley's writing, even though I live outside of New England, I'd go to the Globe's website (or whatever paper boson.com is) and read his articles on a weekly basis. Just his, no other columnist or reporters.

I liked the stories on Hochstein and Belechick vs. Jackson,
Revenge is always a great story line.

As a fellow south bay resident, I thought I'd correct one thing (in our defense). I bet it is considerably more 49er country here than Raider Nation. Of course it is much harder to tell that since the decline of the 49er franchise, however, I just don't think the Raiders were ever the same in these parts because of the LA move. This is evidenced by continual 49er sell outs (with the stands filled with south bay residents) even with bad teams versus continual non sell outs for relatively good Raider teams (though the PSL's didn't help). Not a big deal either way. There's at least 2 right minded NFL fans here in the south bay!

Thanks for reminding me to read that book.

I hope your wife is ok.......

Michael Holley is currently writing a book with Teddy Bruschi.. this is a recent endeavour, so may be out in about 12-18 mos.

Exciting to hear that a new book is being written with Bruschi!!!
Our reign looks good this year and next at this point!

To tell the truth I like it better then The Education of a Coach. More inside info and a fun read.
