    This is one piece of legislation that needs some serious public awareness and debate. The more people learn about what the Patriot Act allows the government to do, the less and less they like it.

    Read the amendments and honestly do not understand them all, but any legislation that is passed as a direct result of some type of catastrophe is usually flawed..

    The issue that is obvious is that we have created a behemoth agency, and not sure if bigger is better, our penchant for throwing lots of money at any problem is seriously flawed.

    Agree with all sentiment here. Bigger gov't is almost never better, and any legislation rushed through as a reaction to a disaster/tragedy is almost always flawed. I heard a funny line from a libertarian that any bill named after someone should probably be looked at twice.
