I disagree. I think people can be reformed and addictions can be conquered. But what it usually takes to reform is to hit rock bottom and be held accountable for your reckless and irresponsible behavior - and that is something the Kennedy's have never had to face. The citizens of Massachusetts and Rhode Island have been enablers for this family's destructive behavior for decades now.

I see. Then it makes no difference to you that Obama once belonged to a church with a racist minister. People can change, right? And they do. :)

So going to church with a racist minister is an addiction?

I am talking about addictions, not about sitting in church listening to the sermons of a madman who is obsessed with hatred for all things American, and openly professing and writing about your admiration for the aforementioned madman, only to try and distance yourself from him when it becomes politically expedient to do so.

So then you didn't really mean it when you said people could be reformed - only their addictions can be reformed. They can change some things but not other things, in other words? Like their minds?

How does that square with McCain and his flip flop on immigration? Do you think he really supports the new law in Arizona like he says he does or do you think he still really, in his heart, believes there should be a path to citizenship for the nation's roughly 12 million undocumented immigrants like he said last year?

No, I meant it when I said people can reform. They can change their ways and they can also change their minds. But I am just not as easily fooled as you are. When Obama professes his love and admiration for Rev. Wright right up until the point where Wright's comments start to become a political liability and it is only then that Obama tries to distance himself from Wright, I'm sorry... I don't see that as a legitimate change of heart by Obama. It's just political expediency.
This is another fine example of what I would call someone changing their mind for the sake of political expediency during the campaign season and not a true change of heart.

he's a kennedy, what do you expect? The family's been a worthless piece of trash for a long time. They've done nothing but be shameful for at least 30 years.
