This is not just his opinion, mind you. Many believers in the supernatural and magic have this position. People I know- friends and family- have uttered this nonsense in my range. I used to hear this in Catholic school from the nuns. It is not an uncommon theory, as wierd as it sounds when someone says it on TV. At least Pat's not prettying up his language. The older he gets the less his crazy filter is engaged, or has he just been like this all along and it sounds crazier as everyone else learns new things.

By the way, Pat graduated from Yale.

Why do miracles “happen with great frequency in Africa, and not here in the USA?” asked a 700 Club patron Ken. “People overseas didn’t go to Ivy League schools,” Robertson replied with a chuckle.

“We are so sophisticated, we think we’ve got everything figured out,” the Christian Broadcasting Network chairman continued. “We know about evolution, we know about Darwin, we know about all these things that says God isn’t real, we know about all this stuff.”

According to Robertson, it’s the “skepticism and secularism” that is being taught at “the most advanced schools” around the country that is keeping God’s miracles at bay.

Meanwhile, Africans are “simple” and “humble.” “You tell ‘em God loves ‘em and they say, ‘Okay, he loves me’,” said Robertson. “You say God will do miracles and they say, ‘Okay, we believe him’.”

Thank you, Pat Robertson for your honesty.

I parsed out that quote and watched it on the video link.

What he says very clearly is 'Don't learn, don't study, close your eyes and be ignorant'.

That's his entire message. The man is a representative of the Dark Ages.

    At least he's being honest.

These Illegal Aliens are all bringing their Crucifixes & Pictures of Jesus over with them and hanging them over their beds, we have to start smartening them up real quick or else Jesus will rise again, in America.

Don't they still have "Voo Doo" down south somewhere?

Pat Robertson is not humble or simple... perhaps that is why is not inclined to have miracles happen, but please send him $700.00 to finance his ongoing needs..

    His "humble abode"...

Or any of Mitt Romney's multiple palaces:

But here's the thing....Al Gore and Mitt Romney are businessmen - Pat Robinson is a preacher. Al Gore and Mitt Romney made their money the (relatively) honest way - they earned it - Pat Robinson got his in grubby little envelopes, sent to him by mostly poor people looking for, you guessed it, a miracle.

The Reverands, The Ministers, The Preachers Of Fire And Brimestone, The Priests they are the reason I left Organized Religion years and years ago.
    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I worship in my own little world, I don't think God minds if I do this, instead of shelling my hard earned money out to "The Religion Business" I donate to FAMILY.

    BLESS

If you look carefully in the yard, you'll see the dirt-covered holes in the ground where he has buried $2.5 billion in various jars because he doesn't trust the Jewish bankers who killed Jesus.

The Ivy schools have a total enrollment of about 120k in a nation of about 313 million. Not sure how that makes that much of a difference on this subject...

A bigger issue is that most people have a hard time envisioning a being greater than themselves.

Does Al Gore get a tax exempt religious status for preaching conservation?
Does Al Gore solicit your hard earned money for his "religion?"
Do you get a tax write-off if you donate to Al Gore's "religion?"
Does Al Gore "preach" in the name of God?

    Guess you missed the contradictions.....

    On well, indeed.

And I missed the part where Al Gore was threatening people with eternal hellfire and brimstone unless they joined forces with his Television evangelical ministry and sent in their donations like good little god-fearing Christians.

    Apples and oranges, indeed.

So basically his message is that if you have no knowledge then you will not be able to explain things that happen around you and you can call them miracles.

Religion, the tool of the devil.

It probably doesn't hurt his credibility with Africans that he's doing this in a country which still drives women out of their towns for witchcraft.
