Anyone have any problems parking at today's game?

I got there at 9:00 and they wouldnt let us park in the main lot outside the stadium, the lot wasnt even plowed yet. We had to go across route 1 and park in P10, which is probably the worst parking lot I've parked in. It took us 3 hours just to get out of P10 and deal with the route 1 traffic.

Anyone else have any parking issues?

    No Jersey Selected

We got there at 8:30 and looped around RT 140 twice and ended up in P7 about 9:30. We were in North Smithfield by 6:30.

We should've done that (loop around until they opened the other ones), got to the stadium around 8:30 and usually park in the P8 entrance on the near the stadium and new shops, but we got stuck in P10 and it took us about 2.5 hours to get onto rt 1 N and another half hour or so to go backroads to go southbound. I hope they get the parking situations fixed for next year as it has been a disaster all year, even when weather wasn't an issue....

OMFG! My brother left the Hartford area at 8:00 and got into P10 just before noon.

I was stuck plowing snow and wasn't going to go. At 10:00 I made my last round and saw that there was going to be a lull in the storm through the afternoon so I made an executive decision to head up solo and try to hook up with them. I left the Hartford area around 10:30, made it to Rt. 1 by 12:30, got tired of sitting in traffic and parked in the first lot on the left side I came to. It was the one right across from Dunkin Donuts and next two the one with those 2 run down houses on it, about a 1.5 miles from the stadium.

As I was walking I kept seeing the same cars so I was making at least as good time as they were. I saw lots of NH, ME, and VT plates so a lot of folks drove a long way to sit in traffic. I got into my seat with 7 min. left in the 2nd Q.

My brother and I both left after the FG to make it 20-10 figuring it was going to be a nightmare getting out. He in P10 and me a mile and a half walk away. No police directing or stopping traffic, just wait for an opening and you're on your way. Less than 3 minutes for me to get out. I was in Hartford by 6:00 and made one more pass with the plow at my customers' and was home by 7:15 in front of the fireplace, beer in hand, with my kids to watch the day's highlights and settled in for the Giants/Skins game.

My brother got home at 9:00!!!! Same drive, he lives a 1/4 mile away from me.

It really is outrageous that we pay $40 for that privilege. There was no reason for 2 lanes in yesterday either. I can see when snow plowing needs to be done, but the snowfall was over with and Rt. 1 was clear. Kraft must have really pissed off the wrong people!

Word to the wise-the next time the weather is crappy, there are only two lanes into the stadium and you're going to miss out on most or all of your tailgating anyway, park at the first, second or third lot on the left side of Rt. 1. Kraft already has enough of your money and unless you like sitting in traffic for 3 hours to get home, it's not worth the grief and aggravation getting out of a stadium lot that you would think might get some preferential treatment.

My buddy always parks in P2 but as we finally arrived at the stadium at 11AM (I drove unplowed highways and roads for several hours to get there) they were plowing P2 and allowing nobody in. Got exiled to the living HELL that is P10. I will say that this Patriots Place development is really making the gameday experience crappy, really crappy. My friend who lives in contiguous Sharon only 7 minutes away says that the local environmentalists won't let Kraft build an access way to Route 95 that would relieve traffic.

It really is getting less and less enjoyable. Sitting at home with cheaper, better food and beer, in front of the fireplace and watching the game on HD is getting more and more tempting. I'm not to that point and still hold out hope that somehow, someway it will improve. I'm not sure I should have that hope but I do.

I would miss getting together to tailgate with my buddies now that we're spread out all over N.E. and it's the 8 +/- times a year we can get together and b.s. But with parking already being more of a hassle than it needed to be and all of the development on top of that, the future worries me a bit now that I'm getting older and getting home in a timely fashion is more and more important. (I'm getting to be a fuddy duddy and I'm not even 40 yet. :D )

My dream of the tailgate RV/bus with all of my family and friends is dwindling, albeit not gone. But giving up my Pats tix and getting UConn football ST instead (for the tailgating and convenience) is a distinct possibility when I never would have considered it in the past.

We never even got to park! We left Providence right after 9 expecting some delays but even with the bad weather we made it to 495 before 10:00. At the 2 mile sign for the Rt 1 exit traffic in the right lane STOPPED. It took over 2 and a half hours to go the 2 miles. A big part of the problem was that all 3 lanes had backed up with all 3 merging to 2 lanes to exit on a 1 lane exit. Another problem was that usual game day lane changes on Rt. 1 hadn't been made so there were only 2 lanes northbound. At game time we were still more than 2 miles from the stadium, the parking lots on the northbound side of Rt 1 were full and it was all but impossible to get to the lots on the other side of Rt 1 because the extra lane west of the median strip hadn't been opened. At the beginning of the 2nd quarter traffic was stopped in front of the stadium by the traffic cops for about another 15 minutes and no one was being waved into the lots across from the stadium.
We've been season ticket holders for 10 years and never had to miss a game but yesterday it seemed like a total breakdown in traffic control. At 2:00 we said the hell with it and headed home to catch the 2nd half on TV.
For those who were too full of yourselves to help make an orderly exit from 495 I'd just like to say I'm glad you missed the game too.

I'm just thankfull that given the slick slippery parking lots (beyond Kraft's control) and the slippery 300s (within Kraft's control) that nobody broke something or worse.

I really curse Patriots Place and the chaos that losing most of P2 has induced. Gillete is NOT a fan friendly environment with all the parking and access problems, even in good weather.

Same exact situation (except 9:30 and 2 hours). Absolutely pathetic. I was back in Quincy 30 minutes after getting out of P10, but it took 2+ hours to get out of the parking lot. The parking attendants (no state troopers to be seen) were actually intentionally cutting two lanes of traffic to one lane for no good reason (it was two lanes for 40 feet after that and you had to merge anyway, and then 4 lanes going to 2 to get out. It was terribly done.

    #61 Jersey

After reading these posts I almost feel fortunate having missed only the first quarter and a half with the MBTA screwing up (not enough train capacity, see other thread). The Krafts need to do SOMETHING about all of this. I hate to think what might happen if we have bad weather for one or both of the playoff games.
