Hey everybody, looking forward to saturday night...cant wait. I was curious what parking is like on gamedays at Gillette stadium. Some buddies and I are driving up from Jacksonville and plan on tailgating before the game. I heard parking there is terrible (without a parking pass that is), but any info. on a none parking garage parking spot good for tailgating would be appreciated! Thanks guys, good luck saturday night!

$35. to park at the stadium. Some off site places are $40. They are all good for tailgating. The parking isn't bad. Some off site lots are up to a mile away from the stadium, while some are right across the street. BTW, there are no parking garages.

Parking garages?? LOL - Foxboro is a very sleepy suburban town about 35 miles south and west of Boston - located 1/2 way between Boston and Providence. So, just come early and park as close to the stadium as you can, you will find great tailgating in all the parking lots, we know how to eat and drink quite well.

During the playoffs the price goes up... I would expect a minimum of $40 for the stadium lots and wouldn't be surprised if it was $45. There's plenty of parking in the stadium lots. People who park far away are usually those that want "easy out" but the best thing to do is just park close and spark up the grill after the game too.

Just make sure to wear one layer...

and something on top of that...

and something on top of that...

and something on top of that...

and something on top of that...

and something on top of that...

Unless, you're some crazy Flordian used to 15 degree temperatures and blowing snow, I'd probably wear double.

    Jaguar fan?

OK, here's the scoop. Parking is a dream at the stadium. It's so easy and inexpensive. Route 1 is a zippy little road and the traffic moves quickly.

Make sure to park in the lot closest to the stadium right before gametime. Tell the friendly attendant that you intend to pay after the game, then request him/her to valet park while you saunter inside.

Sometimes the men's rooms get a bit overcrowded, so the Krafts have a very flexible policy where they say it's OK in those situations for men to use the ladies rooms.

And remember to always, always wear lots a Jaguar paraphenalia!

If you and your buddies are fairly sane (aka not in pat fans faces 24x7), I humbly invite you to join my tailgate. We meet a few miles from the stadium and caravan in with as few cars as possible, ending up in the stadium lot "P-8" (check the GIllette Stadium link posted above for location).

We have a nice group, and, best of all, a big old fire to stay warm both before and after the game. :D. We stay until the police kick us out, which will be sometime around 1:30am.

If you're interested, post a reply with your email address.

for tailgating i'd try to find a non-stadium lot to do it in. there are lots all up and down route 1. it's a hassle getting into and out of the stadium parking lot call the foxboro cops to get suggestions at 973.263.2628. if they are rude and hostile don't take it personally. it's a new england thing.
somebody gave you an invitation to hang out with them. check them out, and if you're adventurous, do it. just make sure they're not chainsaw murderers or liberals or any other type of reprehensible humans.
it is cold here in new england. i'll say that twice. i'm from texas, i have sat in gillette on a cold day, and it's painful if you're not properly dressed. if the forecast is for temps below 35, you'll suffer staying outside 5 hours in our weather. make sure you have a hat that actually keeps your head warm. mittens are excellent, but at minimum wear gloves, especially the kind where there's a lot of wiggle room in the fingers. like pats1 said, dress in layers. 3 or 4 is good. at least 1 layer on pants. or sitting in the stadium, each person should bring 1 blanket. not a bed-type blanket. something like the ones SI sent out this fall.
if you think you'll look stupid walking up to the stadium dressed like this, i will tell you that you'll be sorry if you don't.
i can't resist saying this--- fans in gillette are somewhat excitable. mix alcohol and testosterone in there and it gets interesting. bring brass knuckles, or mace. it is NOT a laid-back, genteel atmosphere.

    Disable Jersey

I would not worry about wearing Jax colors as long as you maintain situational awareness and avoid the small minority of belligerant drunks outside in the lots. Jets fans (and we really hate the Jets here) are welcomed each year wearing green without incident. Inside the stadium is safe and security patrolled. All this assumes you don't go out of your way to bait drunks.

The advice about dressing warmly cannot be overstated. Warm hats and gloves plus several layers of clothing. You're outside most of the evening. It's below freezing.

Why in heaven's name would you travel all the way from sunny Florida to sit in zero-degrees windchill, at night, to watch your favorite football team get the snot kicked out of it? Do you belong to Masochists Anonymous or something? And another thing: You guys owe me a stipend for navigating those less-than-hospitable facilities in Jacksonville during the last Super Bowl. That's not to mention the weather! Isn't it supposed to be WARM down there in February?! OK, regarding parking: I recommend using the first private lot you come to on Route 1. It'll be about a mile walk to the stadium, but you'll be able to get out into the flow of traffic immediately after the game rather than sit and wait for the lot to empty. Your best choice is going Route 1 north off 495, and using the same lot I use on your right immediately past the Dunkin' Donuts at the crest of the hill. You'll see a state police barracks on your right a short ways before you reach the lot, which has a small office building. Good luck to you, and bad luck to the Jaguars. You still might want to reconsider coming. If you're not used to frigid weather, it might be tough.

I second that! That stadium sucked! Plus we had to park about 5 miles away from the stadium.

Don't park at the stadium. Park in Dedham or Norwood and take the 10 dollar train. It's faster, closer, and cheaper, and you won't have to wait a million years to get out. The only problem is it gets there only about an hour before game time and leaves a half hour after, so there's not much tailgating time.
