ESPN - Conversations: Tuna fishing? Parcells has opt-out clause

Parcells has a special clause where he can cash out for 9Million a month from now and no team has to give the Dolphins compensation for him leaving.

The Lions have 2 1st-round picks, 1 2nd-rounder, and 2 3rd-rounders this draft. They are probably salivating over hiring Parcells for whatever he wants to get paid.

I guess this shouldn't be a surprise; after the switch in ownership in NE, I imagine all his contracts have a clause that gives him the right to bail if the team is sold and he doesn't like the new owner.

Please make this true. It's well within the realm of possibility.

Think.

Parcells can only go DOWN in Miami as we rightfully reclaim the AFCE and burst his evanescent bubble. BUT...now the whore can go to Detroit and easily improve that moribund franchise, thus ensuring his prominent place in the NFL HOF as the Greatest Turnaronnd HC/GM Evah!!!

Bill Parcells = NFL Whore :D

It would be a win-win for Parcells. He leaves Miami with a lump sum payment of $9 million - and a healthy paycheck from Detroit. He also leaves a Miami team that is more likely to level off, or possibly win less games next year; leave now and his legacy is further enhanced, while if he stays and the Dolphins take a step back it does not help his image. Proceed to Detroit, where he could have a 4-12 or 5-11 season and still be nominated for executive of the year; an improvement is automatic for that franchise.

I doubt Parcells leaves Miami. He lives in Jupitor FL. so his job is close to where he lives.
Parcells has never left after just one year.
When you get old you like routine, setteling down Parcells is old.
Besides Detroit isn't anywhere near the ocean, which BP likes. The only hook to Detroit would be the resurection factor. If BP could bring Detroit back from the dead he would be proclaimed a mirical worker.
