    Finding Number One
For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah
Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.11O(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.11O(a) provides

"The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a
public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest
through official action is a violation of that trust."

    Finding Number Two
I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin's firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

    Finding Number Three
Harbor Adjustment Service of Anchorage, and its owner Ms. Murleen Wilkes,
handled Trooper Michael Wooten's workers' compensation claim properly and in the normal course of business like any other claim processed by Harbor Adjustment Service and Ms. Wilkes. Further, Trooper Wooten received all the workers' compensation benefits to which he was entitled.

You do realize that they basically agreed on nothing. Basically all this says is that she really shouldn't have tanked the guy but she was within her right to do so ... no big deal ... just grandstanding.

No, it says she abused her power. She violated the Alaska Ethics Act, but she did not violate the part of the law that allows her to dismiss people. Nice try though.

Go to the part of what they recommended ... nothing, nada, zilch.

This was grandstanding and purely a judgement call.

Like i said from day 1 ... she had a right to hire the guy and she had a right to fire him ... he served at her will. She did not need a reason to can him. They felt a need to come up with a reason ... just a waste of taxpayer money.

I guess breaking an ethics law isn't a big deal to you, huh? If that's the case, then you probably would not have cared if she had fired him illegally either. Ethics, shmethics.

You obviously did not read the document ... like I said ... go to the recommendations section. As far as ethics ... that a bunch of bs ... she had the right to can him ... how is it a violation of ethics when you are doing what you are allowed to do?
Wow ... she must be way guilty ... so guilty they recommend nothing ...

"You have been found guilty of violating the public trust in your capacity as Governor"
I'm sure she'll say god told her to do it, or something. ;)

Panel: Palin abused power in trooper case - CNN.com

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin abused her power as Alaska's governor and violated state ethics law by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police, a state investigator's report concluded Friday.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is under investigation for the firing of her public safety commissioner.

"Gov. Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda," the report states......

Does anybody need any quarters for the spin machine?....

Its been about eight years since justice hasn't been surpressed, but to me it seems like 20 years.

He tazed a 10 year old. That alone is reason for dismissal. I don't know why she had to go out of her way .

I think we've been her ebefore IF he tased a 10 year old hes a POS and deserved to be fired. So if this did happen why wasn't he? We don't know the whole story obviously. As far as Palin goes this is not about the ten year old, thats not why she wanted the cop fired.
