Just watched a segment on MSNBC which a guest who was affiliated with Media Matters gave an interview on people who were being paid from the Romney campaign to give analysis on the Presidential election for a news station. No disclosure that they were earning $20,000 a month from the Romney campaign and would facilitate a focus group asking questions on the presidential candidates. There were a number of facts presented, but this one stood out as one of the biggest conflict of interest.
Is it any wonder, that the Romney people thought they had the win?

Having trouble following what you want here Scout ... it's kind of always in the bag at MSNBC, CNN and Fox ... sometimes they are like infomercials.

The point was made that when someone has a conflict of interest (as in, being paid by one of the candidates which they are facilitating an open discussion for a focus group) that they disclose it. I watch MSNBC and aware of how different analysis lean, but have also known them to announce how they are connected to a candidate. Before this past Presidential election, there were many posts here guaranteeing a Romney victory. Gee, I wonder what news station they watched.

Very closely connected to this is that Fox News has put Dick Morris and Karl Rove out to pasture, due to their predictions in the last election..

MSNBC was a deliberate counter-balance to FOX, which has always been a front for the Republican party and corporate interests. It was as if someone said at a meeting, "We have to do something to blatantly and deliberately become the FOX of the left because these guys are so obviously biased." Then they went out and assembled the ying to FOX's yang. At least that's how I saw it.

People that say how CNN leans left forget how they were the chief cheerleaders for both Iraq wars, the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act. They have pushed the corporate agenda as well, if not more effectively, than FOX. MSNBC has also participated in that but to a much lesser degree, IMO.

Look, all three major cable outlets are guilty of over-simplification, soundbite journalism, laziness, and bending over for the establishment on Wall Street. We've got vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. If you really want to know what's going on, read stuff like the Economist and Scientific American or watch Newshour, Frontline or Nova. For raw news, I find it best to read Canadian on-line newspapers like the Toronto Globe.

Good riddance, wasn't there a story around once of Morris sucking somebody's toes?

Out of the mist a savior will come, Barack Hussein Obama will create the need for a real American to rise from the filthy Socialist Left Wing Nutty Rubble and save us from ourselves.
